Looking at their schedule, the Steelers should win four out of six games while Ben is out. But, it sounds like the Steelers are shopping him right now. Who knows if any team will bite; Rooney wants a top ten pick for Roethlisberger.

I have a problem suspending a dude who hasn't been found guilty in a court of law, but I understand pro sports and corporate America have a different set of rules. It's all about image.

Apparently the Steelers have reached the breaking point with Big Ben, and could trade him before the start of the draft. This Georgia incident is the tip of the iceberg.

C'mon. The police covered for Ben. The nightclub erased all the evidence, including the video. And you're upset because he wasn't found guilty in a court of law?

Neither was OJ.

Of course Ben is a thug, but do you believe in due process or don't you?

The American Constitution doesn't apply to private corporation, most Americans don't know that, workers have little legal protection against being fired unless you are a part of a union. So, due process is neither here or there in this case. The facts of the matter, Mr. Roethlisberger is an employee of the NFL. The corporation he works for had as a Personal Conduct Policy code. However amorphous and/or arbitrary the NFL's P.C.P may appear use, it's their rules either follow them or face consequences. shrug

The encounter lasted about ten minutes, beginning from when Roethlisberger entered the back area "with his penis already out of his pants." The alleged victim repeatedly told him she didn't want to have sex, but he kept reassuring her, as they had unprotected sex. She told her friends immediately after, and they reported it to the first police officer they saw.

http://deadspin.com/55181...e=true&s=i

Witness statements say the alleged victim approached the first police officer she could find to file a report. That happened to be Milledgeville Police Sgt. Jerry Blash.

After speaking to her, Blash approached one of Roethlisberger's friends/bodyguards, an off-duty Pennsylvania cop.

Hey, I need to talk to you guys," Sgt. Blash reportedly told Officer [Anthony] Barravecchio, the off-duty Coraopolis officer.

"We have a problem. This drunken bitch, drunk off her ass, is accusing Ben of rape," Officer Barravecchio said Sgt. Blash told him. "This pisses me off. Women can do this. It's bullshit but we've got to do this, we've got to do a report. This is BS. She's making shit up."

http://deadspin.com/55189...accusation

Sgt. Blash resigned the next day but of course, the crime scene had already been wiped clean by that time. One of the reasons the DA chose not to go forward with a case was that he couldn't get enough DNA evidence from the wiped-clean crime scene.

I'm not through.

Reports in the file show that investigators were initially intent on getting a sample of Mr. Roethlisberger's DNA to compare it to a male DNA sample retrieved from the woman through a sexual assault kit. They took swabs of evidence from the nightclub bathroom and obtained a search warrant to collect the quarterback's genetic material.

Officials at the bureau's crime lab, however, told agents that there was too little DNA from the kit to be able to compare it to Mr. Roethlisberger's DNA.

"The sample was so minute that it could not be profiled," George Herrin, deputy director of the bureau's Department of Forensic Science, said.

Also, the medical exam after the alleged assault did not provide definitive proof of rape. However, the medical exam did reveal a "cut, bruises and vaginal bleeding," reports ESPN. Some DNA evidence was seen, but the quantity of it was insufficient to determine who it belonged to.

If you're saying that as long as law enforcement can conspire with perpetrators to make it impossible to prosecute a crime, therefore subjegating any chance for charges and giving the perpetrator the ability to say "I'm clearly innocent because I was never charged", then I respectfully disagree.

All old news. Usual he said, she said. Her sorority friends
all wearing nametags DTF. Hmm.
Also the original medical report that came out and read from the DA stated
that their was a superficial cut around her vaginal area. Hmm.
Her sorority sisters took down their Facebook page immediately after
one stated that nothing happened. Hmm.
Was Ben stupid for putting himself in this position? Yes to the 3rd degree.

What did the D.A. say, they don't know what happened in those 10 mintues behind that bathroom door. They couldn't gather enough physical evidence via the rape kit. There wasn't enough evidence for a court order request for DNA from Roethlisberger. It's a case of he said, she said...

We there is smoke there maybe fire...maybe, but preponderance of evidence was weak.

If every good player in the league would be benched for the whole season the Bengals would still not win a super bowl.

People get suspended and even fired ever single day from their jobs for breaking company policy, and most it is not even illegal, like being on the internet too much, arriving late for work, missing too much work, insubordination, etc....

So I don't have a problem with the league suspending him without him being found guilty in a court of law...he broke company (NFL) policy and should be punished.

LMAO, "old news". They are the facts (or alleged facts, if you're into he said/she said) of the case.

The DTF name tags were joke tags handed out at a party they'd been to earlier.

It's not in dispute that immediately after the incident, the victim sought out a policeman. While drunk off her ever-loving ass.

Are you inferring that, while so drunk that the DA said she'd be a bad witness, she formulated this bizarre plan to go into a bathroom, make sure that Ben's bodyguards kept EVERYONE away, screw this neandrethal, find a cop to claim rape, and then decide not to press charges?

I'm not going to add 2 and 2 for you any more.

No kidding. Try surfing porn at work - which is absolutely not illegal - and see how long you stay employed.

Was Rolando McClain really the guy the GMen were targeting?
What the hell is wrong with Giant fans? They were going at it
with Eagle fans at the draft. The NFC East will probably beat
the hell out of each other next season.

And we STILL gonna whup Cinci's ass! lol

Ben brought this on himself. Don't forget this is the second allegation and this ain't the Cowboys we're talking about...the Steeler organization don't play that isht and if they could have gotten a good deal his ass would have been traded.

The NFL personal conduct policy is being enforced more strongly in the wake of so many reports of athletes behaving badly.
