Mods, I don't know whether this goes in the P&R thread or GD. It's not a political discussion, but as with anything that deals with the sexes or mysogeny or 'double standards', etc. etc. , it tends to have political themes woven into it.


Some of these women were treated the way they were simply because they refused a man's advances. Why is it that in this day and age, there are still whole populations of men who live in the dark ages? We have Jeff Warren, only now being made to pay for instituting statutory rape against women IN FUCKING AMERICA, and we have women in all corners of the world who are nothing but property.

I don't care what your stance on a woman is. She may be a slut or a whore in your eyes---and maybe she is a slut or whore. But she has every right to be one, and you have no right to throw acid on her damned face!

This is an issue that arrises so many thoughts in me that it's impossible to put them into typeable words.

All violence and malice towards another person, man or woman is wrong. fullfuckingstop. Maybe a primal thought that comes to my mind is the sheer horribility of this sort of behaviour and what's even more terrifying - there are attitudes and cultures that allow it to happen.

Even in a "equal and fair" country like mine, there is a very strange athmosphere around, right now, with a very peculiar misogynistic flavour..

dear God. This will probably go to P&R with the quickness but my support for abortion rights goes directly to the heart of women as property. The fetus is a secondary issue to me. It's simply the fight for control of women. Do women have control over themselves and their bodies without the infringement of male attitudes and ideals or do they not?

Those pictures are just immensely sad. There are hardly words to even attach to it. One thing that struck me is to see the humanity and the soul still existing in the eyes. At this point, I don't have the compassion for these sick twisted men because I am led to wishes of their destruction but yes, this is an issue that is way WAY overdue for a solution. It's 2010, no woman should be property anywhere on this planet.

You ought to see the ones of women in the congo who've had body parts cut off and genital mutilation. Women in the hills of china who've been beaten and raped. Married women in India who get raped then are stoned nearly to death because they were "unfaithful" to their husbands. There were two stories here in the U.S a few years ago where a girl had acid poured on her face after some old man raped her and another woman who had been sodomized with a kitchen knife by her attacker.

There are men in this world for whatever reason that simply hate women, some of them show their hatred via their words, the laws they impose on us and others via their violent actions. I think that the women in that link were going to be abused no matter whether they complied or denied. I've often wondered if the hatred stems from a deep rooted jealousy or at least an insecurity within the man who wishes himself a ruler. It's all about fear, intimidation and control isn't it? Women, and children, are all that men have under their control. They can't control one another, they are not Gods, so this primitive desire to be worshipped and feared manifests itself into unspeakable acts of violence against those who would otherwise love and worship men if only men were kind and loving. Perhaps I'm babbling a tad but when you're female and you've heard such stories of hatred against women all your life...you no longer wish to make sense of it...you just wish the apes would die out already or at least hope that women evolve into a more combative opponent.

Easy. Get the guys who did this and throw acid on their faces.
