I just wanted to ask the computer experts on here this question. Is it true that most netbooks or all Netbook dont come with a dvd burner? which has the better operating system? thanks

netbooks generally don't have a dvd burner so they are lighter, but you can get external drives. usually you have the option of linux or windows xp, though in some cases you can get windows 7. if you know what you are doing you can put mac osx on them, like i've done

if you know xp, stick to that. usually the win7 models are more expensive

netbooks are generally for just surfing online, portable email and document use, rather than a full on laptop

Netbooks don't generally come with an optical drive at all, much less a burner capable one. I've found them to be slower in general, the screens aren't that great, and it's most about the compact and "cute" factor than real versatility. Spend your on a notebook and get more leeway with things in the future.

Just get a laptop

not for nothing, but I RARELY use my DVD drive. To burn a DVD for clients maybe.

I don't even use music CD's anymore really, all the music are mp3's. Any movies or TV I watch streaming.

The optical drive isn't really a necessity anymore, so if you don't need it, go with a netbook with a nice decent HD.

Get yourself a notebook running Windows 7.

It's easily the best OS on the market right now.
