Best And Worst Superhero Costumes I think about these sorts of things when I have a lot of time on my hands. As you can see, I'm partial to DC Comics and not too fond of capes. Best Green Lantern - Simple and classic. Nightwing - Same as above Hawkman - For some reason, I always liked the wings and the hawk mask. Black Panther - I especially like the classic costume. Definitely the coolest black superhero. Grifter - More obscure character from Image comics. Had a cool mask and trench coat though. Wonder Woman Catwoman - Along with Wonder Woman, she has the sexiest costume in comics. Spiderman - Even works in the movies. The Question - Cool 40's detective look with a blank facemask. Wolverine - It's all about the blades! Worst Plastic Man - looks like one of those 40's bathing suits, complete with tinted goggles. Awful! Robin - Who thought a canary yellow cape, speedos and bare legs would work? The Hulk - Torn purple pants. Need I say more? Batman - I actually like the costume in comics and on cartoons but it's always been laughable in real life. Sub-Mariner - Drawers and nothing else! Your turn... [Edited 4/19/10 0:30am]

I guess it's one of those cartoon things - Like when there's an explosion and a person clothes are shredded but some how there private parts always remain covered. Or how nobody ever got shot on G.I. Joe despite them firing thousands of rounds an episode. Yeah, I think about stuff like that too!

The first Batman was the best and that costume was soooo col! The costume from the first movie was the best, you're right. In most of the other ones though, the costume just doesn't look practical. What about the Adam West version from the 60's tv series? That one was campy as hell but I like it for that very reason.

Or Superman, bullets deflect off his skin obviously, but they should still tear up his costume. Now Im going to thinking about it all night Rorschach costume is very cool, I just didnt think of him as a super hero. I always liked the look of Lusiphur in Poison elves, but its not technically a super hero costume. My name is Naz!!! and I have a windmill where my brain is supposed to be.....

Something else that trips me out about superhero cartoons is how they narrate each and every move they make. Superman: Kryptonite...making me...weak. Must...save...Lois! Batman: If I can reach my utility belt, I'll use the battarang to sound the alarm. I heard they did that initially when they were radio serials to let the audience know what was happening. Why they continued even when they transitioned to t.v.. I don't know?

from Wiki: "Superman's ability to fly under his own power was explained with the pseudo-scientific concept of "self telekinesis", an invisible telekinetic field that allows him to lift himself off the ground. Any objects that Superman touches are also enveloped by the field and this allows him to move them with the force of his will. In addition, the idea that of a supercharged bioelectric "aura" which acts as an invisible "force field" around and within his body was introduced to provide an explanation for his invulnerability."

Sometimes, what looks good in the comics wouldn't translate well to the big screen. Blue & yellow spandex would look goofy on film(same with Wonder Woman's bathing suit).

Yeah you're right, I actually think the first two films are perfect and the blue and yelllow would not suit the tone of the film. I didn't like that they changed the cartoon costumes to match the film though.
