Marvel set to tank The Avengers before it even starts. Word is that perennial hack and consistent TV failure Joss Whedon is in final talks to direct "The Avengers".
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

okay, first of all I wasn't that crazy about the idea when i first heard it either. but it's not the WORST thing in the world.
secondly, he didn't direct Alien Resurrection. he wrote it. just like he only wrote the original Buffy The Vampire Slayer movie. The man can write and direct. Serenity was a damn good flick. And it shows what the man can do when he writes and directs. As to his "tv failures", I wish I could fail as much as he has. He made Buffy a cultural phenomenon and kept it on the air for 7 years between 2 networks, had Angel on the air for 5. Yeah, Firefly was only on for a season but critically it's gone down as one of the best "cancelled" shows in the history of television NOT TO MENTION how many cancelled tv shows get green lit to be made a movie? And Dollhouse. Once again, personally I think the plug got pulled too soon. Which goes to show if there is a knock on Joss it's that he really pays a lot of attention to character development in his storytelling, and today's tv audience has no patience for that. That won't be a problem with the Avengers as all of the primary characters will be well known to the audience. I don't have a huge problem with Joss directing it IF he gets to have some control writing wise as well. http://www.facebook.com/p...111?ref=ts

In general, I don't like those kind of movies either. But, Marvel's had a hard-on for this project forever. And it will be interesting considering all of their stand alone movies have been leading up to this one. It just might be a game-changer. http://www.facebook.com/p...111?ref=ts

I was hoping for some consistency like Spider-Man's or Iron Man's Director. granted, I have yet to see how Iron Man 2 turns out... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Agree with all that, and he DOES know how to handle large casts, no doubt about that, and his run on the Buffy comics has been pretty sweet. I like Joss, he's a good writer and script doctor. He deserves a shot at a large studio movie.

I gotta tell ya, I'm a Marvel honk and all, but I think the whole super hero team thing only works in pulp form.
They should just make a West Coast Avengers with some hot chicks as Mockingbird and Tigra.

Man,if this is true, this sucks!! I am looking forward to this movie. I hope that they don't screw it up. “When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a Communist.” Brazilian bishop Dom Hélder Câmara

I was always a DC guy, but I can't wait for this movie. I think Joss will do all right here if he's the guy they end up going with.

With the exception of X-men and X2, I can't recall any comic book movie being able to deal with more than one superhero successfully, although I'd say The Dark Knight didn't have any trouble with the multiple villains. Maybe they could pull it off but I'm not optimistic.
