you know, I have spent my life anticipating the call that came yesterday. I still wasn't ready, it is a shock and it hurts. With him we really knew that his life would end tragically and some may not understand when I say this but I am relieved that he died that way and wasn't killed by someone, or in the commission of some petty crime and gunned down by cops or like one of my cousins beat to death by another crazy homeless person. I am happy that he had happiness and love in the last years of his life that his grandbabies knew him to be caring and big hearted and that they loved him unconditionally, unlike most of us who experienced the unsavory side of him and had chosen not to interact with him on a day to day basis. I am thankful that my mother spoke to him by phone a few hours before his death and that he told her he was doing better. She is comforted by that information and will adapt that story to ease her broken heart. This brother was the only infant she had, he was adopted at 2 months old, I was over a year old before they got me. So in the truest sense, this was her Baby.
