I'm Out!!!! I just wanted to let my fellow Orgers know that I just came out to my family this past week. I am 40 and was in complete denial up until last summer...actively trying to be straight and date women, but always with disasterous results. Then I met my current partner. We've been dating for 8 months now and are happy as can be. I never realized how great life can be and now wonder I waited so long!
Last weekend I took my mom out to dinner and told her...it was NO surprise. She was so cool about it...I then told my sisters...both were amazing. Then my cousins (who are basically like my sisters as well), and they were truly awesome about it. Now word is spreading and so far have heard nothing but positive vibes. Still waiting for some fall-out, but so far happy to say i have not experienced any bad attitiudes. I am not a big name over here in the org, but do post my thoughts on Prince songs from time to time and talk to some of you once in awhile...so wanted to let y'all know! |

Very good. I have no plans on telling my parents. I'm sure they know, but it's one of those "If we don't talk about it, maybe he'll find a girl" sort of things. I just choose to not have the talk with them, which will ultimately translate into ultimatums or preaching. I have no time for either. The rest of my family knows, which is how I know the folks themselves probably know. | |
