Therapy

Who meditates?

What does it do for you? I'm interested to start doing it.

How do you do it? I think it can come in many forms, ie. Tai Chi, moving meditation, writing, or tradional sitting still for periods of time just with one self.

If you do do it, how long have you done it and how does it benefit you?

pray

I often meditate after I pray, sort of "listen" for a response from God. Sometimes, it still trips me out when I "hear" something in response. Like: "Whoa! This stuff works, after all!"

He's faithful.

I used to do this, back before I had children.

It is very relaxing, you can almost go inside yourself and hear your heartbeat.

Now, it's impossible to find any quiet time...even at night, where I live, it's noisy, with all the airplanes that are directed over our area at night... sigh

It's sooo worth it. I also feel there is no better way to relax your body and your mind.

A single man with only a dog ignorantly says to a mother:

Try to squirrel away 15 minutes for yourself, Lav. God'll bless you!

Never tried it before.
I use sports to help me relax.
Nothing like a good sleep at night after a good workout.

But I always wanted to try it. Wish I knew how.

I wish!!! I can't remember the last time I was able to find this sort of time to myself...it's just never quiet in the city.

Maybe I'm ready to move back into the country. biggrin

Hell no. I don't have the time or the patience. If I want to meditate I just go to sleep.
