http://i43.tinypic.com/nbw3o1.jpg "One of the funniest films i have ever seen. An important film for the modern ages" ~ Empire Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/wa...Gk2TojOd-4 After 6 years of silence, the man who brought middle England to a halt back in 2001 with the most complained and protested against TV show in British history is BACK! Whats the genre this time? Jihadist comedy. Oh yes...controversy ahead! You know, the media missed-the-point controversy and the complaints from people with no clue. Four Lions was premiered at Sundance film festival on January 25th and to rave acclaim (and a prediction of mass controversy and muslim protest!) and a clip was released that is now infamous... http://www.youtube.com/wa...ZVfyQyu9RY And thus, press awaits comedy genius and controversy when it releases! It already has people religious debating on forums and youtube etc....pathetic! RELEASE - May 7 --- My report on the premiere i attended in Nottingham So, i had the pleasure of meeting another idol on wednesday. Chris Morris is the celebrities celebrity. The comedians comedian. One of Britains biggest geniuses who has delivered a body of work almost unrivalled by any other radio/TV personality. Author of works like Brass Eye, The Day Today, Jam and Nathan Barley. In 2001 he brought middle england to a halt with his "controversial" Brass Eye special, Paedogeddon which became the most complained against TV show in British history....but for all the wrong reasons...an ill-informed public and media, unable to understand Morris's satirical and artistic take on media presentation. Fast forward to 2010 and Morris is back with a new film, Four Lions, his Jihadist, suicide bomber comedy ~ http://www.youtube.com/wa...Gk2TojOd-4 I went to the premiere and sat front row center! Chris Morris, Jesse Armstrong (Peep Show, In The Loop, Bruno), Sam Bein (Peep Show, In The Loop, Bruno) and Cast were in attendance and gave an introduction to the film and a panel discussion after led by film critic, Xan Brooks (whom Morris destroyed to audience amusement due to some ridiculous questions posed by Xan). The film was genius. Ranking up there not only as some of Morris's best work but, probably one of the finest comedies Britain has ever done. It was painfully funny, haunting, lovable, tense and actually very touching and moving. The whole package, a benchmark for British cinema! Gets a strong 9/10 from me. I managed to meet Chris Morris after. After his hilarious and interesting post-film panel discussion, i shot up out my seat to shake the mans hand but, a crew member beat me to it to my embarrassment, quickly turned to Sam Bein and shook his hand instead lol. Finally, Morris was free and i began drilling him with the questions and groups of people began to form behind me. Asked him his views on South Park and the shows latest similar muslim controversy, how Matt and Trey (South Park authors) are receiving death threats from extremists and whether he fears similar events. I asked him whether he'd be up for on screen acting again and also informed him of another genius's presence in Nottingham that night, Stewart Lee and whether he knew about it. Other people began asking questions and asking for signings and Chris was completely brilliant about it! Before too long, Chris's wife intervened and made excuses for both to go. Brilliant night. Another idol met. Pic quality is not great but, fack it, you can see him and my great seat view!
