Allright guys, I'm stuck between sin and a hard place. Let me explain.

No one is perfect, we all know this... when you're "in love" with someone, you must accept the good and the bad, and they must accept your strengths and weaknesses as well for anything to last and be healthy.

I've known this guy for a few months, he's a great guy, and is also a devout Christian. He's sweet, intelligent and the like. He happens to be a little strange and scary-looking to the general public.

My family members are a bit vain as well as against "organized religion". I've always been able to deal with their antics, but am getting afraid because he and I are really close and I want him to meet the family. I also admit I am a bit worried that no one is going to like him.

I know I'm a freak, but does anyone have any suggesstions or advice? I appreciate it in advance.

There comes a time when you need to not concern yourself with what anyone thinks, including your family...if their only reason for not liking this guy is his looks, then don't sweat it...that's pretty much a guarantee that he is indeed a great guy if there's nothing else they can find "fault" with...

You know what Insatiable, my boyfriend is not the handsomest man alive..But he is a wonderful man, and when my family met him (they can be critical), they loved him..

the reality is who cares what people think. With family especially, you didn't pick them so who cares. As long as he treats you well, thats all that matters.

The religion thing is another issue all together, just change the subject. Politics and Religion - never start a conversation on these

I think you need to just do what is right for you. Your family isn't dating him, you are. As for the issue of spirituality, they just need to agree to disagree with his beliefs, and leave the subject alone. Really, his spiritual views are a personal matter, and no one should judge him based on that.

i had the same concerns as you because i've always dated skinny,pretty boys, and then i bring home billysparxxx. i was nervous, but i know that my family will love him. if not, they'll get the tables next to the bathroom at the wedding reception.

Hey guys, thanks so much. Although most of us have this common knowledge, sometimes these truthful words are all a person needs to get up the courage. I pray to God my dad doesn't smack him around because he wears t-shirts that say "University of Heaven".

just let it run its course, and hang tight with him so even if they do react strangely he'll know you still love him
