It's not legal to marry more than one person in Thailand.

It was abolished last century, despite being common throughout the culture back then. It's one of the reasons why prostitution, though itself officially illegal, is tolerated.

It's not a twin situation like this, but there's a guy in my street with a wife and a mistress (at least one, I should say). His legal wife's house is right next door to the smaller house he built for his mistress. The two women are good friends. The interesting thing is that he's never around.
