If Scottie Pippen is a Hall of Famer, then... ...I'm a space shuttle pilot.
What a total crock. Putting a quitter in the Hall of Fame. Disgraceful.

Scottie Pippen ahead of Bernard King and Dennis Johnson? Bullshit.

Averaging 16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals is not hall of fame worthy? That's just a little less than Magic. He won 6 championships. With another player, yes, but he still won them. My Legacy

Yeah, that's how I see it. I remember someone saying that if it wasn't for Jordan, Scottie would've been the primier player in the league at the time??

By your criteria, Magic Johnson does not belong in the hall. If you'll recall he quit the 92-93 season, then also quit after his brief coaching stint cause he lost too many games.
Have you read the Space Shuttle Operator's Manual? There's only a few flights left. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

At least someone is thinking about him, as seen in this video:

What the hell are you talking about? Scottie is a definite 1st ballot Hall of Famer!!! There's not a legit reason why he shouldn't be
6 World Championships 2 Gold Medals 7 Time All-Star (MVP in '94) 10 Time All-Defensive Team (8 Time 1st Team) One of the best perimeter defenders of all-time. Incredibly versatile scorer. But, I guess none of that matters because of 1.8 seconds, right??? JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

Have you read the Space Shuttle Operator's Manual? There's only a few flights left. I have friends that have flown it and I am quite positive I'm not qualified to fly it. Magic Johnson got AIDs and retired. Scottie Pippen refused to enter a playoff game in the closing seconds because the last shot was going to someone else. If you're trying to compare being a baby to getting AIDs, well good luck with that.

I saw his act up close and let me tell you, every single one of those accolades you listed are the result of being the teammate of one M. Jordan. And HELL YES I am holding him responsible for refusing to enter the last 1.8 seconds of a playoff game. Show me another Hall of Famer that ever did that. Show me ANY player that ever did that. I'm not saying he was talentless, but I am saying he's not HOF worthy. Not by a LONG shot. [Edited 4/5/10 19:29pm]

After the first time I saw that, it was stuck in my head for days. Scottie was dropping off an application. I ripped the audio of the song, and put it on my iPod. Every once in a while, it'll shuffle into play in the car. haha My friend had started using the term "I'm balls deep" when referring to this new girl he'd been seeing. It was just guy talk between us. But then two weeks later, this Cleveland episode came on. I immediately ripped the audio, made an MP3, emailed it to him, and said "listen to this only with me on the phone". He did, and he was hysterical when the chorus came up. We now both hum it on occasion when we talk about his girlfriend who he's still with. LOL "I'm gonna be baaaaalls deep....in looove"

Yeah, I remember him having one bad year in Houston when he was past his prime. I also remember him being a major part of a team that one 6 championships. But yeah you're right. Jordan won all of them by himself without anyone's help!!! I saw him playing for the Bulls up close. Let me tell you he wasn't just along for the ride off MJ's coattails. The dude has amassed a stellar career on his own. Yeah, he needed Jordan, but Jordan needed him too. You see how many titles LeBron has won without a great player with him. You also see that Kobe didn't win a Championship without Shaq until he had an All-Star caliber player like Pau Gasol. Nobody wins championships on their own. But yeah, Pip isn't Hall of Fame worthy!!! FOH!!! JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

No, he wasn't a total hack but he's no Hall of Famer, IMHO.

See, by that standard (championships) then Robert Horry is a LOCK for the Hall of Fame. He has SEVEN rings. But would anyone argue Horry is really a Hall of Famer?

If you can't see the difference between Scottie Pippen's contributions to the Bulls' Championships and Horry's team Championships, then you don't watch the game. He was past his prime when he played for Houston and Portland. If we were gonna jude players on what they did when they were past their primes, then Jordan wouldn't get in because of his time in Washington. Willie Mays wouldn't be in the Baseball Hall of Fame because of his time with the Mets. Jerry Rice wouldn't get in the Footall Hall because of what happened when he played for Seattle. It's obvious that you didn't watch many Bulls games, if you saw any at all. BTW, FOH means Fuck Outta Here. As in Get the... JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

He would never top what he did with the Bulls but IMHO that's enough to get him in. Like I said, his work in other teams were afterthoughts.

As much as I don't care for Scottie...he's definitely a hall of famer. There's no denying that. Hey, I'll grant your point if you can show me one other Hall of Famer that refused to go into the last seconds of a playoff game because he wasn't getting the ball. I don't know of any, but Magic Retired, then came back and quit during a preseason and then as a coach, he quit after losing something like 5 of his 1st 8 games. I can't remember for sure. He decided to quit because he was losing. Thing is, you're boiling a career down to 1 incident and you weren't there. To my knowledge neither Jackson nor Pippen dwelled on it and neither seemed sure what happened after the game. I'm sure you can find Hall of Famers that have had bad nights and awkward moments. You want to deny Pippen based on one of those and that would require ignoring the mountain of stats that would support his induction.
