I read where he was being an ass, not reading what they wanted him to say, and refusing to be present in any scene where there were other actors present. They allegedly had to use stand-ins whenever another actor was in the scene.

So they're showing the basketball commercial and I watched closely the part where the African American guy comes in and dunks and sure enough - the shots of Wilson are from the back and three-quarters back, and it doesn't look like Wilson if you look closely.

I always find it sad when celebrities - who, mind you, are doing nothing new in their careers than endorsing companies and appearing in their adverts - take on this self-righteous attitude as if they merit such treatment in the first place.
