So, what are you lot doing for easter? Are you religious? If not, why the heck are you celebrating easter?
Is it just a holiday for you? If so, what are you doing? Do you have kids? Will you organise an egg scavenger hunt? Who's hiding the eggs? I am keeping it quiet. We are not religious in our family, even though my mom used to have an easter breakfast tradition, involving 'paas brood'. Meaning light brown bread with raisins and spice. And the thickest butter (roomboter, ja!) you can think of. So this morning I did that, on my own. Actually, it was brunch, as I slept in. Happy easter! >>

I don't "celebrate" Easter. I don't eat eggs (only those made of chocolate) and even though I believe in God, I'm not religious (imo God is just some cosmic energy). So Easter are just another holiday for me

Happy Easter!
We're not doing anything this year. We usually do an easter egg hunt. We have spent the morning eating easter eggs and my husband has taken the kids to the park while the sun is out. I'm supposed to be packing for a trip... Oh and I've invited my mum and step-dad over for dinner tonight. I was planning on making something awesome, but the shops are all closed so it looks like we'll be getting take-away.

I am finally getting around to eating something today....hummus, olives, beet root & wholegrain crackers.
When I lived in the states, my mom & I would make an Easter dinner. Usually ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, deviled eggs..... When I was little I would get an Easter basket from the Easter bunny. I have been to a few religious Easter services back in the states. Growing up, Easter was never associated with religion...just chocolate and jelly beans. [Edited 4/4/10 4:04am]

I just dropped off the ex and my daughter at church. Then I went and grabbed a breakfast sandwich from Dunkin Donuts and sat in my car and ate it. Now I am on here using my phone, and I will likely follow this with a nap here in the car still as I wait for church to finish.

Nice breakfast, then worshiping at church.
Then we're going to have a big family picnic at a state park.

Ex-Moderator | I'm an atheist, so I don't believe in the religious piece.
Still, I like a holiday as much as the next person. Friday I hung out with friends and colored eggs and made the peepshi (as already evidenced). Yesterday I went to my brother's house and spent time with my family. It was really nice as I hadn't seen them since Xmas. I flew kites with my nieces and nephews and kicked the soccer/football around with them and we made up a game involving plastic baseball bats and a huge plastic ball. Today I have no plans. I think everything is closed and I'm a little concerned about what I have in the cupboard to make to eat. So I may have to venture out to find out what's open. I'll probably go for a long walk too. And most Sunday evenings I spend at Darin and Chris's where we make dinner together and watch this week's Lost (they record it during the week). |
