Yes, because of the movie. lol

It's definitely not a common name in the states. In an urban area, I don't think people would blink, but if she grows up in a corn state people are gonna think it's weird.

Is the movie really so popular in the States? It's a wonderful movie BTW love.

It was in the area where I live. nod

Then I officially suggest Emma or Olivia. Amelie might be a stretch. tease

Emily Jaymes Schmidt doesn't sound bad.
It's not too common; especially the Jaymes for a female.
It's nice. smile

I named my daughter Carnasia Ivana-Núr Shabazz.
I'm in no position to name anyone else's kids. lol

Isn't Emily like the first or second most popular girls' name in North America? How is it anything but common?

"Emilie" sounds the same and just presents a lifetime of spelling nightmares.

"Amelie", however, is cool. thumbs up!

Our nieces name is Amelie. thumbs up!

Personally, I like the name Erin for a girl. Though we had a girls name picked just in case. Samaya would have been her first name, we never got a far as a middle name before we had our sexing scan and found out it was a boy.

I have been told by several people I should never be allowed to name a child. Let me put it this way, I didn't think Apple was all that bad....lol

Hey guys, Im struggling trying to name my baby girl due April 23rd. I would love some creative suggestions.

So far, were stuck on Emily Jaymes Schmidt (Jaymes is in honor of my grandfather, stepfather and her brothers middle name)

I dont want something too common, but not to weird either. This is my first child, so be gentle haha

Thanks in advance!

Jeremy

What about Emilie or Amelie instead of the usual Emily?

Amelie Jaymes Schmidt. I love that!

Emily Jaymes may risk the nickname "Emmy Jimmy" Schmnidt. smile Not particularly stinging, but maybe we don't wanna do that.

How about something with the accent not on the first syllable (so it has a more interesting rhythm). Something like Amanda or Miranda or Elizabeth or Rebecca or Olivia or Patricia or Teresa or Renee or...you get the picture.

Rebecca is an awful name. shake

I like the name Emily, and I love how you added Jaymes for different family members. I would so go with it.

My daughter named her kids:

Seyhan Olivia Christine (Seyhan for my daughter's grandmother, Olivia because she liked it, and Christine for her husband's Mother)

Zoey Cirilo Jaylee (Zoey because she liked it, Cirilo is my Father's name, and Jaylee, in memory of her husband's Father who recently passed away.)

Olivia isn't after ME?! hmph! exclaim
