The dialogue is so great that, for me, it ruined other independent films that have characters saying fake-sounding stuff (or hardly a damn thing at all) by comparison.

Thats what I thought too. Being a sucka for indie movies myself, this is an indie movie fan's wet dream love And it did ruin alot of indie movies I enjoyed appear more pretentious.

I could def see myself watching this film over & over again....

you should watch the others. mallrats is meh, but it has a lot of fans. chasing amy is great. dogma is really good. j&sb strike back is hilarious but don't expect anything but a silly WB style cartoon. clerks 2 is probably his best film.

the non-jay&sb movies are hit or miss. jersey girl was okay, zach and miri is wonderful, copout was meh.

Thanx hug

I saw a clip of Zach & Miri and thought it was a Judd Apatow film. I'm really curious about the Clerks sequel, and the thing that makes me even more partial toward it is Rosario Dawson.

I'm curious about Dogma although I'm not sure what to make of it, is it a sci-fi parody movie? hmmm

Clerks II was very underrated. I loved it. Zach and Miri is hillarious. And no, Dogma is not a scifi parody. Actually it's his take on Catholicism. Absolutely brilliant film, that takes a few times to watch to fully appreciate.

watch clerks 2 next. it is FANTASTIC. one of the funniest movies i have ever seen. there is one scene that you as a film buff will get immediatly, and di e laughing. rosario is delicious, and her character becky is easily the single greatest female character in a smith movie. the dialogue is sheer perfection, and it really was a breakthrough in his direction. randall, dante, jay and sb are all at their best, the secondary characters are a riot, wanda sykes kills in her cameo, one of a few really good ones, and the donkey show is one of the funniest things i have ever seen onscreen.

I remember him talking about being hounded with death threats and serious backlash for "talking about Jesus" in one of his movies(from the infamous "Prince" story).

I didn't know that it was Dogma,,,now it makes sense. Its pitiful that I didn't really know much about the man except for his "conversations with.." series.

Try not to suck any dicks on the way to your car!
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

Kevin smith is hit and miss for me (as of late, almost entirely miss, but I didn't mind Zack and Miri)..

With that said, I think Clerks has held up and will hold up better than any of his films, it's amazing the legacy that film has left considering the budget that made it.

Dogma was an interesting film but I'm not sure I "liked" it. It probably sits firmly in the 6/10 range for me. Clerks II I never saw. I assumed it would feel a lot like Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back which I disliked, so I never gave it a chance.

LOVE Kevin Smith's work.

You should check out the Clerks Uncensored animated series. It was short...but sweet.

We're gonna go to that party, we're gonna get some pussy, and I'm gonna fuck this bitch, I'ma fuck this bitch, I'll fuck ANYTHING THAT MOVES! Yo, what the fuck you lookin' at, I'll kick your fuckin' ass! Shit yeah. Doesn't that fucker owe me 10 bucks? You know, fuckin' tonight, we're gonna rip off this fucker's head, and take out his fuckin' soul. Remind me if he tries to buy something, I'm gonna shit in the motherfucker's bag. Hey, what's up baby? What's up, sluts?

Really?

I LOVED Dogma. Found it totally hilarious and thoroughly enjoyable. The cast was stellar!

Ben and Matt were awesome as the angels, Chris Rock was bitingly funny as the Lost Disciple, and George Carlin? Are you kidding me? Carlin was PRICELESS.

Also, Salma Hayek is a stripper. drool

And Alan Whatshisface as the Voice of God? Fantastic.
It's what you make it.
