UPDATE 5 APR 2010 I think I have an inflamed appendix==> Where is Supa when I need him most :bawl: Has anyone had appendicitis? this is a long story but....
I had surgery on the 15th of Jan to take out some lady bits. Recovery was slow. But I felt good except for this pain on my right lower abdomen. So I go to the surgeon and he says good to go. That pain is not related to the surgery and should resolve itself. 3 weeks later I go to my regular doc after a particularly bad night and he says it's from the surgery. 2 days later I go to the ER they do tests rule out appendicitis, ovarian torsion ( who knew that was possible?) give me pain pills and say go see the surgeon. The surgeon orders a CAT scan for the 19th. Ok I'll be dead by then. Any ideas? I swear this is my appendix but no one is listening and I am hurting like crazy. took 2 vicodin and 2 motrin 800's and I am still hurting. Looks like another trip to the ER for me [Edited 4/5/10 18:21pm] We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. no fever, no vomiting, although I have been trying to induce it, no nausea, Just excruciating pain. I remember richard saying that he had all these symptoms for years before his finally ruptured and people believed him. pain meds kicked in kinda so now I am not crying anymore. when I went to the ER before they gave me pain meds did an ultrasound and sent me home. since I am not vomiting, and have no fever it is not presenting as appendicitis therefore I will go and sit in the ER FOREVER because I am not emergent. 2 vicodin and 2 motrins later my pain is an 12 out of 10 instead of 25. I may go to the ER at 3 when the vicodin wears off and hopefully they will give me a CAT scan. Go by ambulance. They'll have you in the ER quicker than sitting in the waiting area. Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! REAL MUSIC by REAL MUSICIANS - Prince "I kind of wish there was a reason for Prince to make the site crash more" ~~ Ben |

I have had appendicitis before,it was when I was I believe 7-8. I don't have my appendix anymore,I still remember being in the ER,and trying not to admit to pain while the doctor pressed on my side. I don't remember being in alot of pain though. Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach

I am waiting for the meds to wear off. there is this time between no meds and excruciating pain about 20 minutes which is time enough to drive to the ER. GET TO THE ER.
I had appendicitis with no fever and they wanted to send me home, saying the same shit about an ovary. Listen to Vendetta, fall out and scream until they get to the bottom of it.

I had an appendicitis in the early 90s. I was feeling really shitty one day, so I went to the doctor. He said, " Oh, you just have the stomach flu" and sent me home. A week later, still not feeling any better, I started vomiting really violently. My sister took me to the ER , and the ER Doctor took one look at me and said "You have an Appendicitis!" I had to wait another two weeks for the surgery, since it wasn't safe to operate yet.
Doctors can be wrong so like evrybody else here says, go back and see them again, be aggressive, a pain in the ass, whatever it takes.

GO TO THE ER AND MAKE THEM LISTEN... i had extremely bad pain..then it went away..came back a few days later..and wouldn't go away..it hurt so much i couldn't stand up straight.. my mom and sister dragged me to the hospital..and the first doctor that examined me said there was nothing wrong with me and wanted to send me home.. 2 others thought there was a problem.. i told them i was going nowhere..i had never had pain like this,, and there was also a sensation of HEAT in my lower stomache.. i was neither vomiting nor running a fever (asymptomatic) just severe pain..and it turns out an high white blood cell count.. the other 2 docs won out...i was to under go a (endoscopy?) where they make an incision for a small camera to look around, cuz at this point the thought it was 1 of 2 things..either a HOLE IN MY COLON OR APPENDICITIS.. they would remove the appendix if that was the problem...etc.. well it was my appendix and it ruptured as they were going in.. yet the first doc was gonna send me home to die.. go back and ASK!!!! also ask about your gall bladder if u still have it.. maybe they left something behind from the surgery.. pain is the body's way of telling you something's wrong.. maybe if you can go to a different hospital 'why y'all trying to say goodbye? I didn't go anywhere, I'm right here, im all around you,always..'
