I love this movie, but it's not the greatest film ever. I just watched it a couple of weekends ago. (Got the dvd for xmas last year.) Halle's eyebrows are so dark and bushy. And the clothes are totally 90s. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp. | |

This is the movie that started the "neo-soul" era of Black cinema.
The Wood The Brothers The Best Man Love and Basketball Include "How Stella ..." although it was a novel first, and TP's "Why Did I get Married" films. So, yeah Boomerang is the best in that genre it helped to create. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired! | |

When I had surgery, I ordered "Harlem Nights", "Boomerang", "Vampire in Brooklyn", and "Coming to America" to keep me company. I had forgotten how funny Eddie Murphy could be. That's my favorite part of "Harlem Nights" too.
I love all of Eddie Murphy's 1980s movies except for "Best Defense". The only thing I like of his after "Harlem Nights" is "Vampire In Brooklyn" especially the part when he takes over the preacher's body and starts preaching.... Ass is good.
