That's usually the case in the non-celebrity world too. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I've read some quotes of Arnold Swarchenegger using some gay slurs back when he was a body builder. I don't know if that makes him a homophobe though. The same goes for Axl Rose.

Sorry, but I can't get behind that sort of viewpoint. If Arnie or Axl or someone else was using racist slurs (and Axl, at least, has) would you question if it meant they were really racist the way you're questioning someone's use of homophobic slurs in terms of how they feel about gay people? Now, I'm not saying it's not necessarily the case. A lot of people casually say some really horrible things without actually meaning anything by it. But it's a bit of a double standard to just let it slide, don't you think? "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

A lot of people seem to think it's ok to say homophobic slurs but if someone says a racial slur then all hell breaks loose. It is a a double standard and makes no sense to me. Racism and homophobia are both equally wrong to me.

However, in Arnold's case, he's had a long time to reform his way of thinking. I don't know that he has, of course. Now, as a politician, he has to be diplomatic about all the issues.

As for the topic on hand, I don't know for sure but my money's on Mel Gibson. The pig is certainly sexist and anti-Semitic so I doubt homophobia could be that far behind. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

He hates the English too (although that is understandable - He's Austrailian and we hate them) Okay, he's got a rude way of saying he's not homosexual, true. But one of his best friends is Jodie Foster. That doesn't add up. Foster is a very smart woman, I am sure she would not tolerate being friends with someone who is homophobic. >>

He responded, “They take it up the ass.”
According to El Pams, he laughed, got up, bent over, pointed to his butt, and continued, “This is only for taking a shit.” The interviewer recalled that Gibson previously had expressed fear people would think he is gay because he’s an actor. He responded: “With this look, who’s going to think I’m gay? “I don’t lend myself to that type of confusion. Do I sound like a homosexual? Do I talk like them? Do I move like them?” Gibson also told El Pams that he quit the Catholic Church because it has become too liberal and that, “God is the only one who knows how many children we should have, and we should be ready to accept that.” Mel Gibson is a lunatic assbag, just like his father. It's amazing that his idiotic beliefs managed to escape the notice of much of the public for so long. A dollar spent on any Mel Gibson product is a dollar for a "church" that preaches hatred. Know that.

I've heard this clip on Howard Stern (Howard is very pro-gay-rights):
Former Miami Heat guard Tim Hardaway said on a radio show Wednesday afternoon that he would not want a gay player on his team.
"You know, I hate gay people, so I let it be known," Hardaway said. "I don't like gay people and I don't like to be around gay people. I am homophobic. I don't like it. It shouldn't be in the world or in the United States." http://sports.espn.go.com...id=2766213
