July 30, 2008. MediaTakeOut.com just caught wind that in the late Richard Pryor's autobiography Pryor Convictions the comedian admitted to carrying on a 2 week affair with a gay man.

Here's how Richard described what went down:

One evening I was at the "Candy Store," club in Hollywood. I spotted her standing beside the dance floor. She told me her name was Mitrasha and she was beautiful and exotic as her name, a dead ringer for a young Josephine Baker.

After a night of drinking, flirting, kissing and dancing, I took Mitrasha home, where we did cocaine and got down to business.

The next time we were together, Mitrasha forgot to do the tuck and fold. When I reached down, I discovered that she was actually a "he." For some reason, I didn't care. Either I wanted the nut too badly, I was too high to object, or I was as sexually confused as Mitrasha. It was probably a combination of all three reasons.

Mitrasha and I carried on for several weeks. We even went out dancing at the "Daisy." I never kept him a secret. My best friend , for instance, knew I was f**king a dude, and a drop-dead gorgeous one at that. I even admitted doing something different was exciting. But after two weeks of being gay, enough was enough and I went back to life as a horny heterosexual.

A while later, my best friend delivered a message from Mitrasha. He'd realized a lifelong dream and undergone a sex-change operation. Now biologically a woman, she wanted to get back together ... I passed.

OH MY!!! Good for Richard Pryor for being OPEN about his dalliances. Maybe it'll inspire Eddie Murphy to come clean about what he was doing with that tranny prostitute that police caught him with ....

Good on Pryor. He was havin his fun, haaaaay.

However, I'd like to know in which way Mitrasha is pronounced so that it sounds exotic.
I keep reading it as Me-trash-ah.

My-tray-sha or Me-tray-sha maybe??

For some reason, I'm not all that surprised after all the drugs and other excesses. That also seems rather typical "Hollywood" behavior. I just wanna know, what kind of name is Mitrasha?!?!?

Also, how did he not realize she was a he after the first time they "got down to business"??

I'm so glad I'm not alone in being stumped by her name.

I love Richard.

Richard kept it real in that book (and in his comedy). He didn't hold back no punches.

I read his book and I don't even remember reading that. Anyway, props to Richard for not lying and telling it like it is and not giving a damn what folk thought about it. Damn, I miss him. The greatest comedian of all time IMO.

That's cool that Pryor had an open mind. He is missed.

The name sounds Arabic I don't know what it means but the pronunciation is pretty fimiliar.

I guess it didn't make the final chapters of Pryor Convictions I gotta read it and find out where they got it from, he could've done an interview and explained that...

Did anyone else read that account in Richard's voice? I can actually hear him telling that story, and it's really funny.

I don't understand how this would not be a big deal when the book was published years ago. Did this account not make final edits?
