I don't want to fill it out, there's too many personal questions. Maybe I'll just put fake answers. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Do we all get the same thing? I didn't find anything overly personal in mine. It was basically what ethnicity are you, what color are you and how many folk are shackin up at your house.

We all get the same thing. I had to help my Dad fill out his,and his was the same as mine. I did'nt think that the questions were all that personal. [Edited 3/26/10 20:42pm] Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach

Yep, about a week and half after I received it.

I consider name, date of birth, and gender too personal. I never fill out that stuff, and I don't like questions about race/ethnicity either. Basically I think the entire Census is too nosy. But who wrote the questions? Number 10 doesn't even make grammatical sense: Does Person 1 live or stay somewhere else? And then one option is: For Another Reason. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Those questions are simply to cover duplication. Does Person 1 live or stay somewhere else? Is useful for folks like my X and I. We are both filling in the census and both mentioned our children... ( It wasn't a group project.) Does Person 1 live or stay somewhere else? Perhaps someone stays in your location but also spends time at another relatives through out part of the year. IE. ones elderly mother. Perhaps you are taking it a little to seriously as to your personal details. There will be millions upon millions and your details are bond to be unremarkable over all. Well look whom I found dipping their toe in the murky waters! :eyeroll: At least offer me a damn cup of coffee!

You consider knowing your gender too personal? By itself, I suppose knowing one's gender is innocuous enough, but when combined with date of birth and whether one lives with others, and the relationship to those others, it can reveal a lot. (e.g. married with kids, single mother, a lonely old maid, shackin' up with someone of the same or opposite sex) All that stuff is none of the government's business, imo. The check. Yup, I sure did. The funny thing is, on the day that I sent it back, I got a postcard reminding me to fill it out and send it in. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
