All those pics bothered me too, I did laugh at the Asian baby peeing in a bottle at a car expo. That pic is funny, but some pics got me angry just seeing them. The baby holding a gun to its mouth really is a horrible image to see.

Look at the stories of the teen that was beaten into a coma over a text message, the other that was burned over a video game, and were I live, a teen was decapitated trying to defend her sister from her own cousin. Its a sad state of affairs.

Back in the first half of the last century, it was believed that fresh air was the most important thing for a baby. Doctors would prescribe it! If you didn't have a backyard or balcony, then I imagine this kind of window box playpen would have been the height of innovation. Having a big garden was ideal, you could leave your child there for hours and not be bothered by their constant crying.



My mum used to leave me in my pram asleep in the balcony every day, if it was cold, like below -0°C she'd rug me up in loads of layers.

I have done things unintentionally that have frightened my kids very badly, truly terrified them so much their reactions made me cry
like going through a car wash with an 18 month old, what was I thinking (apart from "gee the car is dirty" ) and on a hot night once I turned on the ceiling fan above the bed and my 6 month old who was on the bed with me crumpled in fear, like almost collapsed - a baby must be able feel they are in mortal danger, I worry I have done irreparable damage to them.

I have done the same... esp. with my daughter. She is my youngest and she was terrified when I played with her. I would toss my sons in the air and catch them, my boys would giggle in delight, but my daughter's face was just like this baby's face in the microwave.
I felt so bad that I did that to her. She was six months old and I held her close and sang to her but she was never the same after that moment.

To this day she will not jump on any one's back for a piggyback ride or get on my shoulders. She is now seven.
