I might try a chocolate covered grasshopper. Other than that, I have no interest. I'm not extremely grossed out by the idea in general.....just no desire. I'm only grossed out if it's one of those worms. I just imagine juice gushing out the minute you bite into it.

@ Desirre ...Do you know what I find hypocritical?

Some people on the earth would reject the idea of eating clean animals like grasshoppers & locusts, but have absolutely no issue of eating unclean animals like pigs/swines, oysters, lobsters, and raccoons for examples.

What's up with that?

I'm not bothered by exotic food honestly, I will eat a rabbit and ANY type of seafood that isn't really "conventional", but anything that produces a stench as a defence mechanism is OFF HANDS talk to the hand I don't give a shit how that mofo looks/tastes/smells after the finished cooked product.

I wouldnt normally but whilst traveling in Australia one of the members of the tour (who was a complete %&*£!) was winding up the tour guide saying he wouldnt be able to find any witchetty grubs. He managed to dig up 2 in about 5mins and the German guy backed down and wouldnt eat them after showing off say he and his new wife (it was there honeymoon though you wouldnt have thought so how he was behaving) would eat them if the guy could find them. So some how me and the other British guy ended up doing it, and tbh it wasnt that bad kind of tasted like peanuts shrug.

shrug Why not?

I'm not saying I'd eat bugs every day, but if I was hungry enough, or if I was visiting someplace where critters were just part of the local cuisine I'd go for it.

I've already eaten dried mealworms, crickets, and scorpions that were in candy. It's not a big deal.

This reminds me of a few years back when we had that huge cicada swarm that comes like every 17 years. And obviously if something only comes around that often, it must be a delicacy. During that time I saw chocolate covered cicadas, cicada ice cream...you name it. It was probably made with cicadas.

In the bible, Christians are allowed to eat pork, Jesus dying on the cross thingy made it OK. That's why menstruating women are allowed to speak in churches now and not be kicked outta town... that's in the book of Leviticus too. Jesus made it OK for ALL animals to be consumed (including roaches, maggots, lobster, pork, etc.) , yeah, just gotta pray over the grub and give thanks. Ya musta been thinking about our Jewish friends. wink

And a big nay on the bugs... I'm allergic to roaches and dust mites. Can't do that fear factor crap.

I'm going to say nay. The ones I've tried, little snack insects, don't really do it for me. There are always tastier snacks to be eating instead. On principle though I wouldn't rule them out. If it tastes good I'm game.
