Windows 7 Starter Bluetooth Question

I bought a little USB bluetooth dongle for my netbook, with the intention of leaving it permanently plugged-in.

It's one of these:

You know, they're tiny - and purposely so,to save wear & tear on a USB socket. They're designed to be left plugged-in.

Well, the stupid bluetooth has been draining my netbook's battery! mad Yes, I know it was obvious it'd do this (in retrospect).

I've Googled for about an hour now and can't find an answer. How can I switch the bluetooth off and on, without yanking the dongle out or ramming it back in every time? It's not showing-up on "Eject Devices" either - it's as if Windows 7 has absorbed the bluetooth dongle as being a permanent part of the netbook (which is a bit sinister, like The Borg).

I think in Star Trek they defeated the Borg by destroying the mothership. Microsoft HQ is in Washington I believe.

I think I've found a freeware program that'll do it:
http://quick.mixnmojo.com...sk-ejector

I hope it doesn't "eject" the bloody motherboard or something.

The program I linked to, didn't work.

It would work if Windows recognised that the bluetooth device is a USB dongle and not part of the netbook...

I know I can disable & re-enable the USB Port through the Device Manager, but I don't really want to open the Device Manager whilst using a trackpad instead of a mouse. The trackpad is a bit fiddly and right-clicking on the wrong device by accident could be catastrophic.

Help!!!
