PEOPLE WITH BAD CREDIT DESERVE NOTHING.

1. Don't buy things you can't pay for or can't afford
2.Pay your damn bills and payments on time.
3. Steer away from credit cards. ( you are a dummy if you're paying 20 percent interest)

If you have good credit then you have shown yourself to be a reliable person, you have shown yourself to be a person that a business would feel comfortable doing business with. If you have bad credit, don't expect to get that big screen tv you want, or that fancy car you always desired. You have to show yourself approved before you get those things.

I can have sympathy if you receive bad credit due to a job loss, identity theft or fraud, or any other major event that would have a negative impact on your credit. But if you have bad credit due from your lazy ass not paying bills or payments, don't be surprised if you have a hard time getting loans, or the things you want. I have no sympathy for you if you lack responsibility from not paying your bills or payments.

If you have bad credit and can't get nothing due to your lack of responsibility, you deserve what you get...NOTHING.

I take offense to this. I was freshly enrolled in college minding my own business when some broads at a table offered me a free t-shirt if I filled out the little pieces of paper. I didn't care about a Mastercard, but WOW a FREE t-shirt omfg Two weeks later those cards started coming and I started buying everything that I knew my parents wouldn't send me. Credit cards should NOT be given to anyone under 21.

I've got a mind to sue the banks who issued them to me. If fat people can sue McDonalds and airline corporations for being overweight, why couldn't I sue Mastercard, Visa and Discover?

Honestly, I thought I was. I had a job. But being 18 and a big dummy I had no clue what interest rates REALLY meant. I thought I'd get by on paying minimum balances. Besides, they were some really kick-ass T-Shirts.

Those interest rates should be considered as legal loansharking. I used to get credit cards in the mail, I ripped them up. I only use a credit card for emergencies. A debit card is much better. The only interest I like is the interest I receive from stocks and funds, especially when the interest start to compound.

That reminds me...

I started college when I was 17, and I'd frequently get calls at my dorm room from credit card companies, wanting me to get a card. I could usually cut them off immediately by telling them that I was 17--contracts with minors are generally voidable by the minor, but not the other party--and hence, no bank will give a minor a credit card (unless, perhaps, an adult co-signs for it).

Anyway, one day I decided to teach the free t-shirt people a lesson. They had set up shop outside Ballantine Hall, and I decided to apply for the credit card and get a free t-shirt, knowing that they would reject my application (or so I thought) because I was a minor.

Well, I did this in the fall, and I never heard a word from the credit card company... until about six months later. Two weeks after my 18th birthday, a Platinum Visa card arrived in the mail for me. (The Platinum part must have been a mistake--I had no credit history and was working as the proverbial burger-flipper at the time.) I guess they just decided to hold my application until I turned 18.

Credit cards should NOT be given to anyone under 21.

I respectfully disagree. In most (all?) states the age of majority is 18, but there are a few things (such as purchasing alcohol) that require a person to be 21. The situation of people between 18 and 20 lacking some "adult rights" is bad enough as it is--we don't need another "must be 21" situation.

To borrow an idea from the Vietnam era, if I'm old enough to be drafted (I had to register with the Selective Service System within 30 days of my 18th birthday), I'm old enough to have a Visa.

Oh, if you're wondering, I'm 24 now. This is not a rant from a peeved 19-year-old. smile

Any idiot can file a lawsuit. The Clerk's Office doesn't look at the merits of the case--they just want you to file the Complaint, Summons, and Appearance, and pay the filing fee. Whether he or she will win is another matter entirely. smile

You calling me an idiot Mr. Matt wink ? I just wish I had the will power to deny the application. But I swear if you had seen these t-shirts they gave me you would be in awe and you'd have Visa threatening to kill you every week like me. As a matter of fact I'm going to put in on as a reminder of the days of good credit.
