That cheese smell. There's no cheese on the Taco flavor. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

But seriously, are Doritos snacks just NOW coming to New Zealand? We've had those for at least 15 years in Iceland and we used to be kind of behind when it came to fast food and snacks. To answer your questions: 1. It's flavoured tortilla chips. The most typical flavours are Nacho Cheese and Cool Ranch (or Cool American as it's known here). 2. It used to be my favourite snack. I rarely eat Doritos these days but I recommend trying them with their salsa dips. we've had them here in Australia like FOREVER as well it's just corn chips, like CCs you are in Australia? I'm going to Australia in the summer, Hope to se you there about the snacks? they are good, I tried every flavour , very good. [Edited 3/17/10 13:39pm] MICHAEL JACKSON

1. What type of snack are these 2. Are they any good I ask as there have been ads on here (New Zealand), saying they are going to be released soon and that they are "Americas best kept secret" Hey huggie, I'm in NZ as well. I just got back from the Gold Coast and had my first bag of Doritos and they were yum. Way better than CCs. I think they were sweet chili flavour. I'm not normally a snack chip eater but they were very moreish.

Yes thanks for all your replies. We are slow in receiving American and British snacks as we have an established range of snacks of our own. For Corn chips we have CC's, Aztec, Homebrand, Mexicano, Big 400g and general chips we have two huge brands Bluebird and Eta, along with supermarket brands Homebrand, No Frills, Signature Range and Pams So you could say Doritos is going to have an uphill battle here.
We received other American brands in these dates, usually in Auckland first and spreading to the South Island later KFC arrived in 1971, McDonalds in 1976 (1987 in South Island), Pepsicola in 1987 (Coke arrived in 1941), Wendys in 1994, Burger King in 1996 and Mars Bars arrived in 1987. So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

When I was in OZ I put 2 and 2 together and realised Hungry Jacks was BK (Burger King) where it just tastes better. We also have Nandos, but Oporto went belly up 2 years ago. We got Dominos pizza about 2000, and Pizza Hutt about 1975. Taco Bell dosen't exist here as Mexican food is not very popular. Here its just called Burger King.
We also have Borders here (2 stores in Auckland, 1 in Christchurch) and they are officially owned by our big chain Whitcoulls (Known as Angus and Robertson in Oz), but still trade as Borders. Borders didn't ake off here as their prices are skytopical due to the fact most of their stock is imported from the US and the Kiwis have only half the purchasing power and didposable income level of the US. Our average income is about the same as Mississippi's. So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

Mexican food but I have to admit, the mexican food I had in california was a whole different (better) thing than we can get here

Eww, but every now and then I do get a taste for the regular ones. The new flavors turn my stomach a little. I love the hell out of some Cheetos though. Everyone should be treated to the greatness of the day-glo orange snack. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Its a shame it went, I loved their Bondi and Norm burgers. You can get Mexican here, but the cafes will be locally owned and not chains, we regularly make our own Tacos with mince and an Old El Paso Tortilla kit (Tacos, seasoning and sauce) So what are u going 2 do? I love the trams, the buildings, the ambience and the great trains (We got a week pass for $26 and went up to Belgrave on Sunday) beautiful. I also went up the Eureka 88 and went out in the glass cube thing. The Old El Paso box, similar but flatter with a picture of a sun and cactuses and crap behind the taco. So what are u going 2 do?
