Watch a New Video about the Bottled Water Scam!

Please watch this new video (just released today) about the fear-mongering done by coporations like Coca-cola and Pepsi to dupe us into buying their wasteful, polluting bottle water.

Good information there. Thanks. I stopped buying bottled water a year ago when I realized that most of it is tap water from other cities. I don't see the appeal of Aquafina. To me that's some nasty tasting water. I do like Nestle's Pure Life flavored waters though, especially the lemon flavor.

When I used to live in New Jersey we had the best tasting water because it came from an artesian well. My aunt from Philadelphia would come to visit with gallon jugs so she could take some back home with her.

I live in Winnipeg, and we get our water from Shoal Lake, just over the Ontario border. It tastes good. I've always kind of shook my head at people who buy bottled water.

I grew up outside of town where the water came from a well on the property and was subsequently softened.

Fine for washing the clothes or taking a shower or cooking, and sure you could drink that water but it tasted salty. So we had a water cooler for drinking water.

When I went into town, I didn't have a problem with the water.

But I came up on that water cooler for the most part so now that's what I expect water to taste like.

I at very least have a Brita filter in the fridge running now that I live in Calgary. I try to bring a refillable travel bottle with me to work.

I always liked Saskatoon's tap water, unfiltered.

But yeah, if I am on the go, you will catch me with Fiji, Evian, Aquafina, whatever. shrug

Water has to come from somewhere! I don't know why this is a "Scam". I would buy bottled Saskatoon water if I could, lol.

The only time I've ever bought bottled water is when there has been an emergency and there was no water coming from the sink. I find it rediculous to spend money on something that comes out of the sink and tastes exactly the same.

taste test have been done that show tap water is chosen over bottled water in many cities.

Bottled water is more important in nations that have poor water treatment. Like they say when you go to mexico, "don't drink the water" they mean it.

My tap tastes BETTER than bottled water, yup... even better than Evian.

So I buy bottled water, but only for the fish tank because the fish need the bacteria in that water (Poland Spring)... our tap has a ph of 8 so its not ideal for the fishies. Me and my kids prefer the tap, thank you very much. biggrin

I've tasted a slight difference varying from city to city when the water first comes out of the faucet but after it has been refrigerated or put over ice, I can't taste the difference.
