Opera 10.5

Ooh, I just upgraded my Opera browser to the latest version, 10.5 - and it's faster than ever. I love it!!!

Tried Firefox, Chrome and Safari; but for all their bells & whistles, Opera is the fastest and most stable.

I can't recommend it enough.

I'm going to have to try it.

Firefox is really good, but it's a resource hog and buggy.
Chrome on mac is still a beta and relatively buggy.

I don't actually care for mac's Safari--it's fast but sometimes buggy.

I heard Opera is really fast too!

You can have 15 tabs open at once, without it crashing.

There's a really handy Turbo Mode too, which loads lower-res versions of graphics and doesn't display embedded Flash unless you click on where the Flash would be. It's great for reading Flash-heavy blogs when every other post is a YouTube video.

Nope, is a new one to me. Will it allow me to install hot links as tabs, as Modzilla does?

You know what 'hot links' are? On Modzilla I can in stall them on my browser, so my most often used links are just one or two clicks away.

There's regular bookmarks - and there's also a speed dial page. You can choose to have each new tab open as a speed dial page.

This example has nine speed dials (3 x 3) but I have 25 on mine.

Well, yeah - you can store bookmarks in folders.

Just install it and give it a whirl. The Turbo Mode alone makes it worthwhile. It's amazing how much faster you can browse, with it on.

p.s. If you do install it, all the preferences (to change your home page and import bookmarks) are accessed by clicking the big red "O" in the top-left corner.

This will be my fourth browser. After an Opera trial period I will stick to one and chuck the others.

Well, to me it all depends on how it works on my computer, in combination with the programs I run on it and if I like the possibilities it gives me. It needs to be über-workable; I have been using Modzilla, which I like for their hot link design, which I use a LOT.

Even though I like Chrome's actual page design waaay better.

I am curious if Opera is what my computer likes and what my sense of design likes...

Youtube keeps fucking up in my case. I have to hit refresh every now and then.

I've been using Opera for ages. Firefox is stupidly slow on older computers - and as far as I know I haven't gotten any viruses when using Opera.
