My daughter would do that shit without realizing it. She would be in her little nightie or whatever and get out of bed all quietly and stand at the top of the stairs, her long hair over her face, just looking down the stairs. Then one of us would inevitably get scared shitless when we had to go up there for something, then we'd have to tell her to take her creepy ass back to sleep. In nicer words.
