These young boys nowadays, have no clue what it is to be a man. So many of today's children are given WAY too much freedom and choices. When I was growing up, it was this or nothing. Jordan Middle School teacher admits having sex with 14-year-old student March 9, 11:11 PM Burbank Community Examiner Jordan Middle School On Tuesday, March 9th 2010, the Burbank Police Department confirmed that a teacher at David Starr Jordan Middle School turned herself in, admitting she had sex with a 14-year-old male student. Amy Beck, 33, accompanied by her attorney, surrendered to Burbank police detectives at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. She was booked at the Burbank Police City Jail, where she is now being held on $400,000 bail. An arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday, March 10th, at Burbank Superior Court – Division One. Beck admits that she engaged in unlawful sexual activities with a male student from March to September of 2009. The victim had been a student in Beck’s sixth-grade class and was 14 years old at the time the sexual contact began. The boy is now 15 and is no longer enrolled at Jordan Middle School. Principal Sharon Cuseo told the Burbank Leader that Beck had taught English and social science at Jordan Middle School for about ten years, but unexpectedly tendered her resignation in a very brief letter on Friday, March 5th. The Burbank Unified School District states that Beck gave no reason for her resignation, and the District had no knowledge of the crime until police contacted them. Beck will be charged with four counts of unlawful sex with a person under 16 and one count of oral copulation with a person under 16, and could face seven years in prison if convicted. Burbank police detectives are investigating to determine the extent of the crime and whether any other students were involved.
