Who has tried P90X?

OK...I got into the hype. We burned the DVDs from a friend that burned his from a friend and so on. Yes. We are pirating exercise DVD people! hmph!

I have done the first week. My body feels like it is swollen, I am sore from head to toe and I swear I've gained 11 pounds. Woa. I'm sure it's from putting my body through intense work outs and shock; but 11 pounds? It's like I have hypertension or somehting! lol

I'm gonna knock out week two, but hell. I'm still sore from week one! And if I gain more weight...dang it! And by the way, yes I am eating healthfully and controlled.

So who has tried it? Has anyone tried it?

I haven't, but I watch the infomercials all the time and consider it. lol

I've been trying to get back into running, but it's not working so far. I need to try something new for cardio. I've been maintaining my weight loss since November, but I want to get back on it and lose another 20 pounds and the yoga I've been doing isn't gonna cut it for that.

So hmmm... you'll have to let me know if you survive the second week.

I've been thinking of trying Zumba too. falloff

I hear Zumba is very fun!

The guy that burned it for us has lost ten pounds and dropped a pant size. P90X is not cardio everyday. So I go walking around the neighborhood (because I'm too sore to run! lol ) the days I do the toning videos. There are some exercises I literally cannot do and I alternate with something that I can do on these videos.

I'll post for you guys and let you know how week two is. Who knows maybe I won't be as sore. Doubt it. There is a new set of videos for me to do in week three. faint

It's a good workout. I lost weight for the 1st couple of weeks, but am now building muscle so the weight loss has leveled off.

I'm going to start 2 a days tomorrow to shed some more pounds. Overall, I'm down 10 pounds after 3 weeks.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

Did you feel swollen the first few days of doing it? The guide said there'd be a weight gain, but man, I literally put on 11 pounds in 5 days!

I felt the normal soreness that comes with tearing your muscles, but not swollen.

You might try doing the cardio x or kenpo everyday for a week or so to get your body used to working out. The full workouts are pretty intense. The 1st week, I couldn't complete the full sets except for the 1st day.

That sounds like a great idea. I like the Cardio X. I can knock it out quick in the morning before work. The Kenpo is good too. I may do that. Perhaps I'm going too hard too quickly.

I just saw this infomercial when I was at the gym and it scurred the hell out of me. I wish I could hang with it though, because it looks like a serious workout.

Then again Gilead is on and he's free! nod

There is a workout called "plyometrics" in the set and it is basically an hour of squats followed by jumping out of them. By the end of it, I am telling my muscles to jump, but barely leaving the ground.

The legs workout is an hour of variations on the "chair" position. Bend your legs 90 degrees and hold that for 60 minutes.

The ab workout is only 15 minutes, but it has no breaks and your lying on the floor with legs off the ground the entire time. I imagine it's like fucking, but without anyone holding your legs and less fun.

It's fucked up and sadistic.

I was chatting with a former Orger who's doing it.

She says it's hellish but very effective - in the short term, of course. What you do to maintain after will determine whether your results will stick around.

The plymetrics dvd is messed up and we have to re-burn it. ha ha But that leg work out was no joke. That was the one that has me feeling swollen. Then I walked a mountain yesterday and did the abs. Today I'm tired. But am still gonna go for a stroll. Walking is too easy of an activity to not do while not torturing my body...till tomorrow...

St. Paul Peterson did and swears by it. If you notice that first picture of The Family back in 2003, he had put on a bit of weight (above), and for a thin framed guy like him, it showed - a LOT. I did P90X and slimmed down and toned up like a MFer. He looks just as toned and cut as what you see on TV (below).

I tried the sister product, Insanity (called Get Insanity too), which is the high intensity at home cardio product. I have been working out for 18 years, but I will say that the workouts will wear you down.

I have lost 5lbs in the two weeks I have had it (from 210 to 205lbs) and my cardio conditioning is getting better.

The P90X is for real though. The BeachBody (the company that makes these) products are good but just be prepared to sweat smile

You'll stick things up your butt, but you can't handle some lunges or a few sit ups? lol

I don't just stick things up my butt. I have male parts thrust there. There's a big difference.

It is more cardio based/no weights at all and IMO a great purchase

nod i can't see the point of this unless you are hurrying to fit into some smaller clothes or a bikini or something for an upcoming event. as soon as you stop this exercise (and you will), the weight's coming back.

That applies to ANY workout. You're basically saying you don't see the point of exercising unless you want to fit into some clothes.
