I don't know what I'd do if my feet/ankles were struck by some mishap that prevented me from wearing heels. shake

It was TERRIBLE!
I had to go out and buy sneakers... disbelief

Keds champion oxfords are my daily shoe, but when I go out I need 4 inches or more. Seriously, I'd sit at home and cry if I got bunions or something structurally went wrong wit my feets. shake

highfive Unfortunately, I'm not going to KY, maybe next year. beg

But we have a REALLY nice racetrack here with an awesome restaurant overlooking the track. So I organized a "big hat" event for 20 ladies the day of the Derby. So we're gonna eat, drink, and watch the races in the comforts of AC. Hopefully, it will get some of them open to the idea of actually going next year.

nod I'm really looking forward to it. I love going to the track, but without having to be outside. I don't do outside, especially in a Texas summer. I'm looking forward to catching an afternoon buzz and laughing at my nutty friends all while looking fabulous! I can't wait to get my hat made. dancing jig

Girl, I just stared at the doctor... not because I had a fractured ankle, but because it meant a glitch in my shoe game! lol

Keds are comfy! I started off with big ugly sneakers, but after the swelling went down I broke out the Keds in different colors. My coworkers were like, hmm because I was "coordinatin'" in Keds... biggrin

Yeah, see that's the only thing about Derby...since it's always held the first weekend in May, we never know what the weather may be like 'round here confused ....and unless ur a "baller" up on "Millionaire's Row" yo azz will be outside bravin' the elements if it's cold or rains.....and they banned umbrellas at Churchill Downs so then ya gotta worry about ur cute outfit and hat gettin' f**ed up. sad I hope it's a comfy 65-70 degrees and sunny this year! biggrin

When I wear white pumps with a black dress....

Dudes be staring hard and getting that "please talk to me" look in their eyes. It's almost scary. boxed

I don't get the same effect however, when I wear black pumps with a white dress. Usually they don't say or do shit. sad

Any kind of stiletto with jewels or satiny high heel....I better be with my girls cuz some of these menz look like they ready to jump a bitch.

lol Yep, they do have indoor areas, but I guess since it's Derby and everybody wants to see and be seen, outside in the grandstand is the place to be....but I'm sure u are not alone in not doin the outside thing.
