CLEOPATRA JONES VERSUS FOXY BROWN

so which one was the more bad ass, sexy agent, crime fighter?

a little background courtesy of Wiki...

Cleo

In the film, Jones is a special agent assigned to eliminate drug-trafficking in the US and abroad. After Jones torches a poppy field in Turkey, Mommy, a drug-lady played by Shelley Winters, becomes furious and promises to destroy Jones. Mommy uses her link with corrupt officers on the force to stir up trouble for Jones' friends and to set her up to be jumped. Meanwhile, Mommy is having problems with some of her pushers, like the disloyal Doodlebug, played by Antonio Fargas.

Foxy

When her government-agent boyfriend is shot down by The Man, Foxy Brown (Pam Grier) seeks revenge. She links her boyfriend's murderers to a "modeling agency" run by the campy villains of Steve Elias (Peter Brown) and Miss Katherine (Katherine Loder). Foxy decides to pose as a prostitute to infiltrate the company, and helps save a fellow black woman from a life of drugs and sexual internment. This leads Foxy to a variety of revenge-themed setpieces -often violent and sexual- that range from the cremation of sexual-slavemasters to the castration and presentation of a foe's genitals.

Foxy! nod
I have a nice little collection of the "Blaxploitation" movies... Pam Grier gets my vote! thumbs up!

I just watched "Cleopatra Jones" recently, and it really irked me that she kept changing into weirder and weirder outfits. It seemed like she changed 4 times in one day! hmm

Love Pam Grier but the Cleopatra Jones character was as cool as it got. In fact, no female action role character has been cooler.

My vote goes to Cleopatra Jones.

And BTW, Rest In Peace to Tamara Dobson, one of the best action film heroines ever.

That alone is 10x cooler than anything about Foxy Brown. lol

My vote is DEFINITELY for Cleopatra. The quality of the films are about the same, but I like Cleopatra's look and style more than Foxy. The only thing about Jones I don't like are her extremely fake/sad martial arts scenes. I know she was a very tall model, but someone could have choreographed her Karate moves way better than that. disbelief .... lol

I might've reconsidered.

lol
I just just got kind of lost because she'd go in someplace wearing one outfit, then go to the next one wearing another, then showed up somewhere else in something else... I was sitting there thinking, "Wait a minute... she went home and changed AGAIN?!"

Speaking of Foxy...

In this sexy, often shocking, memoir, you will get to know the real Pam Grier in all her battles and triumphs, her disappointments and her victories.

This book is broken down into Three Parts: The Early Years, 'Fros and Freaks, and Finding the Balance.

Hasty lol

The book is yet to be released. Pam has an intriguing growing up in LA, and she is a survivor as well,,,,when she was diagnosed with cancer back in the 80s, her doctor predicted that she would die in few months.

I'm glad she overcame that.

How I know? You are always giving us the 411 on bio's and all, I thought maybe you had the hook-up with the publisher. lol

I look forward to reading it than. I heard Womack speak of Grier on NPR. He said she was one of the wildest women he'd ever dated but she was also the most postive and supportive women he'd known. He was about to get into some stories and that chick on NPR flipped the questions back to music. mad
