He's watching porn or doing the moves wrong.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

I have tried out phase 1 of P90X twice in 2008 after somewhat graduating from Turbo Jam. Only did the first 30 days of classic, twice, but in those 60 days I lost 20-25 pounds.

Unfortunately I didn't pick it up in late 2008 and throughout 2009 I was busy with life and going back to school that I reversed and added back those 20-30 pounds.

I was paying for it in late 2009 but now, back on the horse. Started mixing Turbo Jam with P90X. I only have Turbo Jam's cardo party, turbo sculpt, 20 min workout, Ab Jam and Punch kick and jam.

Decided to do an enlongated 90-120 days with the mix. Found that Turbo Jam compliments P90X well, but Tony Horton really gets you to stretch to begin and stretch when you cool down. Chalene does start out with a quick warm-up but it's more aerobic.

Doing the "lean" course and adding Turbo Sculpt. Found out that sculpt compliments CardioX, core synergestics, Yoga-X, and chest-shoulders-triceps. Have not tackled Cardio-X or core synergestics until this past month.

Ab Ripper-X sucks but I look forward to it.

So far so good. I'm much more energetic, sore in places (ass, chest, biceps, my love handles) but it's all a good sore. Unfortunately not following the eating guide, but modified it for myself. Still drinking protien / Soy / Slimfast shakes with a raw egg and frozen / fresh fruit, sometimes I mix a little bit of Powerade with water to simulate the P90X recovery drink instead of drinking water and I don't each out all that much. Buying in bulk though - like frozen chicken breasts and tenders - and grilling them up on the grill.

Next to my two cups of coffee in the morning water is my best friend. But after working out 5-7 days a week (life gets in the way) I don't need my morning coffee - at least 2 cups. I'm also getting, or at least trying to get 6-7 hours of sleep a night.

So far so good. I'm going to stick with completing the 3 phases and see where I am at at the end of 90-100 or so days. One thing I noticed in completing turbo sculpt and then doing core synergestics on consecutive days, they have similiar routines. The prison cell push-ups (push up knee thrust, push up knee thurst, push up), side hip raise, and reach high and under push-ups is similar to the last few minutes of turbo sculpt, so when Chalene tells me to get into plank and raise my knees, and do a reach high and under push-up, I add a few extra push-ups and knee thrists for good measure.

I love Tony's mantra -- do your best and forget the rest. As well in the latest P90X infomercial, that heavy dude who did FIVE cycles of P90X said it's more like P-lifetime-X. I'm understanding why.

It's the only workout that seems to try and make the exercises look as hard as possible.

It looks like it works, but it's all about working your ass off, instead of "five minutes a day" like the other products.

I only have to look at the infomercial to know that program's too much for these old bones.

omg Looks a bit hardcore. I'll stick with my steady pace doing weights, swimming, skipping rope and riding the exercise bike. I'm in no great hurry.

nod i can't see the point of this unless you are hurrying to fit into some smaller clothes or a bikini or something for an upcoming event. as soon as you stop this exercise (and you will), the weight's coming back.

That applies to ANY workout. You're basically saying you don't see the point of exercising unless you want to fit into some clothes.

no, not at all. extreme exercise is just like extreme dieting--temporary and doomed to failure.

moderation in food and a practical exercise routine are available to anyone and not unreasonable.

OK I'm modifying this now. Doing more of the cardio videos and incorporating walking. I think by next week I'll be ready to hit the program full throttle.

Everyone's insight was great. If I get rid of this gut I'll post nekkid pictures. lol

It is more cardio based/no weights at all and IMO a great purchase

would it be good for someone that wants bigger arms...?

P90x would be better for that but you will tone up like crazy

That's exactly what this is. A suggested diet and 60 minutes of workout 5 or 6 days a week. Hardly extreme. Intense and challenging, but hardly extreme.

Again, a moderate diet and moderate exercise, if stopped, will not keep you in shape any better. That was my gripe.

pardon my ignorance. i never tried it, but it says 'extreme home fitness' right on the box, and i have heard many folk talk about how sore it makes them and how difficult it is.

Yes, as we have been saying in this thread, the sore is a good sore. You are tearing up and down the muscles in order to expand and build. It's also called muscle confusion.

Many of these routines and programs in P90X were not known to me at first, or are an amalgam of other exercises, but kicked up and twisted or incorporated with other exercises.

Yes, you will be sore. If you don't exercise 3, 4, 5 times a week on a regular basis, you will be sore until your body gets adjusted. Then you can add on more weights, do more repetition, to strengthen yourself.
