Inner ear throbbing noise?? I know this thread will FAIL unless Dan finds some way to turn it into a discussion about butt sex but.....
does anyone else experience a throbbing/pulsing kind of noise in their ear? This noise appeared shortly after giving birth 20 weeks ago. I keep hoping it will leave just as suddenly as it appeared but no such luck yet. It is really frustrating me at night when I am trying to sleep and the house is quiet. It is so loud, it keeps me awake and has woken me up on several occasions. ![]() Anyone else know what I am talking about?

Have you seen your GP?
I would get it checked out, could be Tinnitus....

Whatever it is, go see a dr asap. My brother has the same and he waited too long and now his BEEEEEP (he's got a BEEEEEP) is permanent. >>

When I had my 6 week check after the baby was born , I told the dr about the terrible headaches I was getting along with the noise.
The headaches are getting better, the noise is not. She wanted me to have blood work done, I had it scheduled some time ago. I had to cancel the appt, never rescheduled. Just trying to live with it and hope it goes away before I kill someone. ![]()

You really should get your head scanned, I'm not trying to be funny... If you have a weakened vein wall that has swelled because of higher blood pressure during birth that needs to be found before it becomes an aneurysm. Phil's right, that is your pulse but you should not be able to "hear" it... Get that shit checked PRONTO! A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon |

Sounds like a problem with blood pressure to me.
Can you also feel the throbbing? Do you have ear wax? The latter can be checked out by another person too. You'll need a flashlight. If the ear drum isn't visible at the bottom then the ear wax can cause pressure changes there as well. If there is wax, it will be black / brown.

I can feel it pulsing and throbbing at night when I am in bed lying on my side. I have had extremely low BP all of my life, even through out my entire pregnancy, it was really low. When I had my spinal block, the anesthesiologist had to give me another drug to keep my BP up because the drug for the spinal was dropping it too low. I will have hubby look in my ear, it does not feel blocked or clogged.

I'm not sure if Ear, Nose & Throat is sufficient. As you well know, I'm no Doctor but that doesn't sound right at all!! A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon |

You can't really feel the wax, but if it's there it can cause all kinds of problems. Infections is one of them, which can also cause swelling. That will change the pressure. I know it did in my case.
However, if your grandfather had the said problem. Then I recommend seeing a doctor too. The earwax check can be donw in a few minutes, so it's not a big deal.

if it is an inner ear infection, which is trapping fluid in your middle ear and not letting that drain, this could be the cause of the issue. i used to get those all tghe time when i was little. everything sounded muffled except my own heartbeat. ![]() hope you get to the bottom of this dear. ![]() http://emedicine.medscape...5-overview Background Labyrinthitis is an inflammatory disorder of the inner ear or labyrinth. Doing a bit of research and it is looking like it could be from the spinal block I had 20 weeks ago.
I attempted to have an early night tonight and sleep a little before the baby wakes for feed but the noise is unbearable. ![]()

yes, you should see a doctor.
if it's tinnitus ... well, let's hope it's not. the problem might lie in the tube connecting your throat to your inner ear which serves to equalize pressure in your ear. if it's blocked, pressure rises and this may result in you hearing your own heartbeat/pulse ... can you try to pop your ears ? (hold your nose and blow like you do on a plane) I need an avatar ... please DM me your suggestion !
