I was excited when I was carded on my birthday last summer. I think the guy at the door thought I was already drunk! lol

I will say, one of the last times I went out, I got carded twice (at the same bar!) and none of my friends did. So that was nice. mr.green

That's another thing. sad

Men often improve with age, as long as they take care of themselves.

Women are held to a different standard.

That's what people say and like you say the standard, IMO it's quite the opposite. Many women look better when they grow older and most men don't.

I think a lot of people improve with age. (And I think I happen to be one of them. lol)

But I also think there is more pressure on women to cover grey, smooth out laugh lines, get the boob lift, etc.

The hot sun in Trinidad seemed to be aging me too. But judging from your pics you look as cute as always.

I totally agree, but I still think women do that more often, maybe because they take better care of themselves, also as a result of the pressure you mentioned.

They card me all the time. Though I think that's mostly because they don't want to let in a guy that looks like a metalhead.

The thing is...whatever you look like on the outside as you age...inside your head, you still feel like you're 25. So when you get out of bed in the morning and hear all the bones in your feet crackle as they hit the floor, or feel a twinge in your hip, or look in the mirror and see that crease where there wasn't one just yesterday, it's terribly disconcerting.

I look a good 10 years younger than I am (or so they tell me), but the body knows. It knows. disbelief

yeahthat

I'm often mistaken for younger, but like you said: the mysterious crack in my ankle bone to which the doctor told me to start taking calcium, the gray hair, and other little things... make me realize I'd LIKE to think I'm still young, but it's catching up with me.

Well too much sun can dry out the skin and cause wrinkles. Though ppl like you and me do not sunbathe so I doubt it has aged you.
I notice here that many of us women have large bags under their eyes. I have always had bags but it seems that they are much worse in the Winter.
I never had to use so much skin moisturizer and stuff for rough feet as I do since I moved here. The sand always kept my feet smooth and beautiful.

Thanks btw redface

I want to see some recent photos of you. Hint! Hint!

funny quotes from the "golden girls" show

Age is just a state of mind, now convince my thighs
My mother always used to say: "The older you get, the better you get, unless you're a banana."
I've been thinking...I guess that explains the beads of sweat

lastly:

God, grant me the Senility
To forget the people
I never liked anyway,
The good fortune
To run into the ones I do,
And the eyesight
To tell the difference

The thing about aging that scares me is being alone... sad

What's scaring me is the realization that I won't ever have kids. It's never been a goal of mine and when I think about it rationally I'm still about 95% sure I don't want any in the future, but I'm turning 35 this year, so it's really now or never. And it's clearly not happening now. lol

I just hate the idea of it not being an option anymore. sad

Carrie you still have child bearing years left in you. I'm turning 33 in a few days...although I'm not sure if I want children I still feel like I have some time left to decide. A woman I work with is 40 and had a baby. It might not be ideal but it's still possible. You have no idea where life will take you...

I am in my mid-30s and I HATE it! Ever since 25, I have hated getting older (except 28 was a good year). Everyone who says the 30s are great is wrong, they suck! lol

I am starting to get too many gray hairs to pluck (unless I want a bald spot lol) and since I am growing my hair out to donate, I can't color it. However, people are always surprised when they find out how old I am, they generally think I am 7-10 years younger. biggrin Last week two interns were shocked when they found out how old I was; and plied me with questions about what my skin care regimen is and what products I use. I guess I look younger because I have really big eyes (sounds weird, but I think that's it) and not many wrinkles -- which is surprising considering I was a lifeguard for 8 years and thought one could never be too dark!

But when I look at my hands, they are definitely the hands of a 30 something...people's hands show age more than their face sometimes.
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Aging is a fact of life and it can´t seriously be denied BUT keep in mind that most of you don´t really exercise as much as you used to (come on, most of us used to play basketball or whatever at least two or three times a week, some used to run or jog and now they don´t...due to being whacked out from jobs that you didn´t have when you were in your teens or early twenties).
Kids play outside all day, and that´s one of the things that keeps them (and teenagers) young and fit, and a lot of kids or teenager who are lazy couch potatoes have pretty much the same symptoms as people who´re ten or fifteen years older also have.
Most of us probably don´t eat as well as we used to....some are under enormous stress or suffer from bearing too much responsibility, whether it´s job related or family related.

I´ve posted this link before but I can´t post it often enough....it´s something I saw on youtube when I was looking for some fitness videos...dude is 62 years old and still looks VERY healthy and fit. He´s in top shape and looks even better than he did in his early 30s . Sure, he´s taking HGH (jintropin) and has tons of money but it still takes a lot of determination and discipline to look like that. Same goes for Prince who still looks incredibly young for his age.

We´re all gonna get old or will die sooner or later but it´s up to us to extend our "youth". Eating the right things, getting enough sleep, drinking enough fluids and working out regularly can really help you to look at least ten years younger. A lot of people think I´m in my late 20s. I do notice certain changes but I think we have a lot of options to stay a bit younger, or at least look a bit younger, than most generations before us.
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
