I ~HEART~ Beluga Whales, 2010 Edition!

Belugas are an artic and sub-artic species of whale, the male growing up to 18 feet in length (females up to 13 feet). Adult Belugas are rarely ever mistaken for another species because they are almost pure white in color (or a very light grey).
Belugas are often referred to as “Sea Canaries” because they have a high pitched squeek. Their skulls are not fused to their vertebrae like dolphins and killer whales allowing the beluga a great range of motion with it’s head. Moreover, they have a greater range of facial expression than other whales due to musles in their faces, as well as their ability to distort or change the fatty ‘bump’ on their heads via their sinuses.
Belugas are trainable, and the US navy have used them in anti-mining operations before. There’s a known case of a Beluga rescuing a distressed diver bringing him to the surface and possibly saving his life as a result.

They are often hunted by Killer whales pissed and polar bears mad
I simply love these whales. sigh

As much as I love these images, I feel they should not be kept in captivity.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
