the duggars recycle and buy things second hand nod lol

They also have several industrial kitchens and an in-home laundromat. Have you checked out the energy and resource use of set-ups like that?

The point is, even if they do recycle they're still contributing massive amounts of waste that an average-sized family would not because they live to wasteful North American standards. A family of 21 and growing will inevitably use more energy and resources than a family of 4 or 5, and IMO that's deeply irresponsible.

The irony in this in terms of their collective carbon footprint is that they adhere to a strict version of Christianity. Doesn't it state in the Bible that we are to be stewards and caretakers of the Earth?

women are designed to be constantly pregnant and breastfeeding nod
thanks to good nutrition and medicine, and hardly anyone dying in childbirth any more, the fertile period is now insanely long! nutty

No, we're not.

Being pregnant even under normal circumstances is pretty hard on the body. There's a reason there are so many programs and initiatives in third world countries to teach women to space out their pregnancies and have fewer children.

Yes, biologically, women are designed for pregnancy and to give birth every 13 months (SHIT!) I have read studies as to why today's woman have ovarian, uterine, and cervical cancers. A lot of it is from not popping one out every year. Crazy I know, but from an evolutionary stand point, women did not live as long as we do now whilst our human DNA was developing.

Today's technology and diffusion of birth control came AFTER we evolved.

that's crazy, but it makes sense, since people didn't live nearly as long, and so many babies died. You have to have lots of kids just so enough could survive. In the same way, men are designed to want (& be able to if they're awesome enough) to have sex with as many women as possible.
