Because their beliefs are ball sack crazy. Read up on the Quiverfull movement.

People like that belong in an in-patient psych ward, not out in the world breeding.

I don't need to read up on it - because I don't care. These people aren't hurting me in any way.

They hold jobs and take care of their own. That puts them one up on a lot of folks around here. shrug

They don't take care of their own. Their kids take care of their own. There's a whole lot more to child rearing than just paying for them.

The only people who don't help to raise their siblings are only and youngest children. I'm the eldest of four. I started running to fetch diapers for my first younger sister when I was 1-1/2. I was washing bottles and folding diapers for the youngest by the time I was 6. And those weren't my only jobs.

Was it fun? Not always. But it's part and parcel of belonging to a family. And I think it's a big part of why I have a decent work ethic today.

lol Are you serious? The whole carbon footprint thing is a cornerstone of global warming orthodoxy. If you do know that, you're being disingenuous. If you don't, you need to do some homework.

I can't believe I have to spell everything out for you. 1. Just because I brought up carbon footprint - regardless of how large a part it plays in the notion of global warming - does not automatically mean I have "faith" in global warming. (One can believe Jesus was a real man, but not the son of God -- this is similar.)

The fact that you questioned why they didn't do it suggests that you think they should. So, yes - you did say that (though not in so many words). I simply explained why that doesn't work in the real world.

I question a lot of things that I may or may not agree with. It's called being critical and not automatically believing everything one hears. It's how one makes informed opinions. Do you only question things you think should be the case?

I always think it's funny how people throw ad hominem around here. I haven't attacked you personally in any way. And yet, you feel free to attack me. Whatever. shrug

And I always think it's funny when people respond with "Whatever" when they can't think of anything else to say in order to support their arguement. And let's be clear, I haven't personally attacked you. I disagree with your comments and find your style of delivery bitchy. I don't know you personally, so I can't tell if your posting style is indicative of your character.

isn't that what families are supposed do...take care of each other...help each other...nurture each other...I'd dare say that those kids have a strong sense of kinship with their siblings because of their family dynamic...much stronger than you'll find in an average family...

do you really think that the mom & dad just fuck and preach while leaving the kids to their own devices?? lol

as wonky as their beliefs may be to me, it certainly works for them and has little to no affect on anyone outside of their family...at the end of the day, that's all that matters...

How do you know they don't rely on the government? (I didn't see a link to their personal finances in this thread...) Furthermore, they probably have a huge carbon footprint; not to mention all the garbage a family that size generates. The world is overpopulated as is, and there are thousands of kids in foster care that need families. Why not adopt instead of bring more kids into an already overpopulated world?

Every person alive adds a "carbon footprint" but let's not get green-crazy about having a large family

I reckon kids from large families (those I know personally, children who are one of 6 or 7) seem to be well adjusted and very close with their family. I think there is worse sibling rivalry in smaller families where there is more competition.

Your post before reminded me of a comedy sketch by a local group DAAS waaay back in the '90's.

Their one went...

"There was an old woman who lived in a shoe. She had so many children her uterus fell out"

They then proceeded to run around the stage yelling uterus for about a minute. I wish I could find a youtube link sad

It was probably right around the same time, actually, 88 or 89

You are not missing too much, but he had a series of these nursery rhyme jokes, one of the less funny ones being

"Hickory dickory dock
this b&^%$ was sucking my c&%^
the clock struck two
I dropped my goo
and dropped her off on the next block"

I don't care how many kids they have...the only thing that makes me wanna hurl more than her grand canyon vadge is their religious beliefs. Bringing up their children to believe in their fucked up religion is pretty gross too.

lol Yes. his biggest claim to fame may be that he was banned forever from MTV for delivering some of these jokes live on one of their awards shows.

I will say in his defense, that his act was that he created a character who was despicable. I don't know if he was the same as his character, maybe he was. But that is not his real name, and I believe part of the comedy was intended to be laughing at a mysoganistic dolt. But he became popular with fist pumping morons who related to the dumb character. confused
