i was thinking that i really wish i was older and living in new york to experience the clubs and music back then.

maybe people were over the 80s, where they had all the make up big hair and flashy clothes and were too afraid to sweat.

the early 90s seemed to be when people got over the yuppy era and starting goin crazy on the dancefloor cool

I'm me, silly. smile

At that age I was just figuring out my interest in fashion and finding my sense of style. I was just beginning to develop a good taste for music as well (I had been given a tape of Love and Rockets when I was 13 and discovered a whole new musical world). Other than silly crushes, I didn't have much interest in boys yet. That's still kinda true today. lol OK, that changed the year I turned 16, I think.
That's the year I really kinda grew up. I was "over" being the good kid and started to rebel a bit.

It was around this time that I was likely listening to Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock who sampled the Galactic Force Band in their hit "It Takes Two".

I bet y'all didn't know that shit.

It takes two came out two years before....87 or something.... I graduated highschool in 1990, I partied HARD! House music broke out and I lived in the clubs back then.

Dudes had the funky hairstyles and Africa medalions while the girls wore banana clips, high waisted pants with cropped tops.
lol Good times.

Finished school a year before. Went o/s for ayear and had some amazing experiences. Was in London when Stone Roses were breaking which was pretty amazing (hearing Fool's Gold on the radio in its first week!). First two years of Uni were VERY busy, fun and a bit confusing. Musicwise was interesting - especially after the boring radio fare of the 80s.

Plus, First time I was disappointed by a new P song I heard on the radio - D&P.
"We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

"That's becuase we're soulless auttomatons"
