That song drives me nuts! Every friday morning it gets played on a radio show (Radio 2, Chris Evans). My kids love it and beg to have it turned up loud. I try to make that my time to be in another room!

Nina Simone: My Baby Cares For Me
Jackie Wilson: Reet Petite (both these songs got re-releases when I was little) The Bangles: Eternal Flame

I remember watching the video to Come on Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners. I loved that when I was little.
My babysitter was a singer and dance teacher and would always teach me dances whenever she babysat. Into the Groove by Madonna sticks in my mind for that. I also remember my mum playing One day i'll fly away by Randy Crawford. I always think of my Mum when I hear that now.

The first, as a re-release like you said, and the second because in the car my father would insist on rewinding the tape to hear it at least one more time. background: My 15 yr old sister took my 9 yrd old azz to wembley arena to see JANET..Rhythm Nation 1814 concert, we had no tickets , my sissy planned on buying them at the box office but failed, so she spent the money on merchandise such as t shirts, medallion etc! But check this, during our walk-abouts of the outskirts of wembley arena, we came across a gentlemen working for the concerrt duties,My sister gave a him a chain she wore for Janet, he took it from her and went off.. then mr Rene came down and saw me and my sis.. He (mr rene) gave us VIP passes (including front seatings at stage).he told us thanks and said janet loves the gift!!.i cant explain what happened after, it was the Bomb!!!!! the track Love will never do came across my memory when it was playing live, the a drummer (from janet's team) giving me a drum stick, we later got it signed by janet..what a night..Oh and Momma was a going mucho loca on us..we came home around 2 am ..sunday night..Ouch!!! But it was worth it!!! I love my past1 [Edited 3/1/10 15:13pm] I went to one of those shows - was a great concert and Love Will... is my favourite song from that album.

And he knew all the correct words too. Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. "Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!" He took his vorpal sword in hand: Long time the manxome foe he sought— So rested he by the Tumtum tree, And stood awhile in thought. And as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came! One, two! One, two! and through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back. "And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!" He chortled in his joy. 'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. Is that English ? That's as weird as the WI accent *ahem* And incidentally, Lewis Carroll was English. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Maybe weird was not the best choice of words, but my English is not so good and I could not find a better one. I hope it did not sound offensive, that's why I added the emoticon too and I knew that April knew I was joking as she knows my bf is Trini and I just spend nearly half a year there. The WI accent just is really hard for me to understand and sounds almost like a complete different language and not so much like English to me. Damn, so many songs....
Everything MJ, Prince, Madonna (they ruled the 1980s).Happiest memories of my life. A-Ha, Flock of Seagulls, Expose, Gloria Estefan (I lived in Miami and she ruled he airwaves), and lots of other pop acts of the time. As a teenager, Tupac (2Pacalypse Now, Strictly for My N*****), Ice Cube (Kill at Will, death Certificate, and Predator),grunge music, lots of classic rock, glam rock. Around 1993, I bought Jimi Hendrix Smash Hits compilation and got hooked for life. I also bought ChangesOne by David Bowie and became a fan as well. "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."
