Since the tragic suicide of Marie Osmond’s 18-year-old son, she has received an outpouring of sympathy from her friends in Hollywood. Osmond’s son, Michael Blosil, jumped off his 15 story apartment building in Los Angeles on Friday night. He left a note inside his apartment that indicated he was depressed and felt he would never fit in. It was reported that Blosil sent a text message to a female friend who he was to hang out with that evening and told her that he left a note for her instead. (See photos of Blosil here).

By the time the female friend and Michael’s roommates arrived at his apartment and found the note, it was too late. They heard sirens outside and went downstairs to find out what happened. That’s when they discovered that Michael had died. Blosil was a student at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. He had suffered from severe depression for quite some time and was also sent to rehab for a drug issue in 2007.

Marie Osmond is a much beloved entertainer that has been a part of Generation X’s childhood with her Donny & Marie variety show. Marie Osmond and her family have received sympathy from people across the world. Entertainment Tonight spoke with some Hollywood celebrities at a recent charity event who sent words of love and encouragement to Marie.

Marcia Cross, Debi Mazar, Nick Lachey all sent well wishes to Osmond. Cross added, "What's so devastating about that is, first of all, death is irrevocable, and you think, 'Oh my God, did they have medication? Was there something that could have been done?'...It's heartbreaking."

Marie Osmond’s friend Mary Hart told the press, “Marie is finding solace in her faith and her family.” She went on to say, “You can bet she has loving arms around her. The Osmond’s are a very close-knit family and, in times of loss or tragedy, they support each other and really band together as a family, and in love.” Marie Osmond has gone into seclusion to deal with her grief. Michael’s funeral will be sometime this week.
