​Marvell Scott, 36, a former Channel 7 sports anchor, was arrested this morning for allegedly raping a 14-year-old prostitute in his midtown apartment two years ago.

According to WCBS-TV, Scott's attorney claims he is the victim of a shakedown by two prostitutes and a pimp.

WCBS reporter Lou Young tweeted about an hour ago: "Marvel Scott admits inviting 3 troubled runaways to his Midtown apt in June 2008. Gave DNA sample 1 year ago."

Young also tweeted: "Lawyer says 3 teens asked Marvell Scott for help in Midtown and he agreed. Rape allegation followed. Claims it's a shake-down." Scott is expected to make a statement after his arraignment this afternoon.

Marvell Scott, the former sportscaster for WABC/channel 7, has been charged with raping a 14-year-old prostitute.

Scott allegedly raped the young runaway girl at his West 47th Street apartment after meeting her, a 16-year-old girl, and a pimp in Times Square.

The girl reportedly asked Scott, now a doctor, to stop. Scott allegedly responded, "Just a little longer."

After initially denying having met the girls, Scott now claims that they asked to use his bathroom. He says he ultimately kicked them out of his apartment.

Scott was released on $10,000 bail after pleading not guilty Tuesday. He was also charged with patronizing a prostitute and endangering the welfare of a child.

The former sportscaster could face up to seven years in prison if convicted.
