Does knowing the ending of a movie before you even see it for the very first time ruin it for you ? Just wanted to see what others thought about this...

Overall yes.

if it's one of those ones with twists, then I spend the whole movie waiting for what I am expecting to happen, to happen. and that sucks ![]()

it depends...
if its based on RL you can sometimes forget the ending, if its a good movie (Apollo 13 for instance had me on the edge of my seat) i would have been dissappointed if someone had told me the ending to the Sixth Sense before id seen that. seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before ![]() ![]()

Depends. Titanic, not so much.
The Matrix (pt 1), hell yeah.

Yes, I want to see it from the very opening credits UNLESS it's some dumb shit I've waited to see on cable & don't really care about. I hate when people ruin endings for you too, some mf's do it on purpose ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hell yes! Recently this was the case of the Avatar, the story was so cheesy that I could say what will happen in next 10 minutes.

unless i've read the book myself, then yes i most likely won't bother with the movie.

Isn't it quite predictable in most maisntream films anyway? With the titles that have more of an artistic take on them, the "mystery" elements of the plot are hardly the motivating factor for watching them. In those cases, it's that overall aesthetics and the mood of the flick.

Well, watching the prequel movies to Star Wars was probably the most predictable movie experience in movie history, and I still enjoyed watching them( okay, I didn´t really enjoy "The Phantom Menace" but the other two were quite good). PS: In the end, Darth Vader aka Anakin Skywalker dies. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Never. I simply don't watch movies for plots. I watch for construction. But then again, I'm a filmmaker.

Generally speaking, I want to know very little about a movie before I go see it. I want it nearly all to be a surprise if possible. And if I'm really excited about a movie, I'll avoid reading reviews, threads on the org about them, everything. I want to enjoy the experience for myself, not read it through someone else's eyes first. |

I was tipped off to Empire Stikes Back (probably hurt it) and E.T. (the movie was still an incredible experience, the only movie I have ever been to where the audience got up and clapped : when the bikes all took off to escape the govt) My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

It seems the endings of movies are always ruined for me because people have to tell me how it ends before I see almost any good movie. Especially the suspenseful ones.
The Sixth Sense, Primal Fear, Titanic, and among many others were spoiled for me unfortunately. Although with Titanic of course that ending was to be expected. Still though, I enjoyed all of the movies anyways. Also, Mystic River and A Place In The Sun were ruined for me too.
