My Pilgrimage I recently went on a rodtrip with my old homies from California. It'd been 8 mo's since I moved from Cali to Nawins, so their visit was VERY welcome. We went up to Memphis fo a couple of days. I was forced to do the "Graceland" thing which I didn't enjoy AT ALL....but anyways. What I DID enjoy was the trip to Stax and Sun Studios. I stood on the X in the Sun studio where MANY a stay like Cash among others stood to put the vibrations to tape. It was awesome. Te original Stax was demolished but theres a GREAT museum in it's place. It literally put me to tears to be in the place of such history and culture. It was inspiring and I suggeast anyone with the means and budget to make the trip to do so. I was able to slide the sliders on the 8 track machine that put to tape classics that came out of Stax. My fingers touched the same thing that Tommy DOwd touched, that Otis ouched and countless others.
Sun Studios it still an operating studio. U2 Recorded some trax there. It's truly an experience I will NEVER 4get. I cried and they were tears of happiness and sadness. Partly because of what was allowed to happen to original structure. Music is like a time machine. The vibrations put to tape whenever they were put to tape are allowed to re-enter the world at anytime at the push of a button and cause changes EONS after the fact. THe vibrations never end and will forever have something to say. May the world never forget the joy these individuals/groups brought to the world. | |

That's awesome. Sun studios would be cool. I remember U2 and the Memphis horns recording there in "Rattle and Hum". Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |
