He's ok now. We don't really know (definitively) what caused it...other than possibly exhaustion (he's been working super hard and not taking best care and smokes a pack a day). Dr said one thing for sure, the smoking has to stop. He has to follow up with his own Dr.

How has her stress level been? I'm sure she's constantly on the go with little tending to herself. Tell her I will come down and kick her ass.

We do both have a lot going on, but trust - the Mistress does not neglect her bubble baths, stretching, naps, yummy treats and other little stress-relieving rewards. We frequently spend way more money than we should on bath products from LUSH, and unwind in our big garden tub, sometimes with orgmember vivid if we're feeling particularly fruity. cloud9

I believe strongly in setting the right example for our kids - not one of martyrdom, but of healthy, balanced living - including taking good care of one's self.

falloff You idiot!

So, there's no official diagnosis yet, but the consensus seems to be asthma.

The cardiologist walked in and said, "Yeah, welcome to Florida. We have things that bite you, sting you, and give you asthma."

With my disorder it could have been a lot worse, so I am thankful that nothing is seriously wrong with my lungs or heart.

Everyone's love and prayers are making me feel stronger!

PunkMistress is in the hospital again. We don't know what is causing her chest tightness, pain, and feeling of no breath. All day in the ER, xrays, ct scans, ekg's, echo cardiograms, blood gas tests.....all this has led to her being admitted. I'm very worried.

Please, keep her in your thoughts and wish her well.

So I'm having another attack right now, they don't know why, and it looks like I'll be here another night. sigh Which I had to push for, because they wanted to send me home like this, without any real answers. What the hell am I here for then? So I can go back to work on Monday and have to go home again because I can't breathe??

But a much-loved Orger friend just sent me a lil something-something that has me warm and happy all over.

I'm so frustrated, you guys.

I feel like I'm having to fight so hard to get the clinicians to listen to me. They just want to get me out of here. I'm now having the same shortness of breath and difficulty speaking that I had when I came in here, even with the steroids. I told the nurse that I'm still symptomatic once again, and in this condition would be unable to work and care for my family. That is not okay with me, especially when they haven't even given me any pulmonary function tests yet. (PFTs would give them information on how my airways are functioning, and could rule out COPD and other serious conditions that haven't been addressed by the tests they've done so far) They want me to go home and schedule the PFT with an outpatient doctor. I'm here in the fucking hospital! Do it here, bitches! It's not even like they have to take my word that I'm not better. You can hear my voice being forcibly pushed out, I'm hoarse and struggling to speak, cords on my neck are standing out just from talking.

The nurse assured me that he would call the doctor and pass that on. He went out in the hall and called the doctor, and I heard him tell the doctor simply that I'm ready to be discharged but "the patient wants to stay." Nothing about my symptoms, nothing. I got up out of bed, walked out into the hall and said, "I can hear you! I don't just want to stay here, I am still in the same condition I was admitted for and I have no answers! Put him on the phone with me and let him hear how I sound right now. I want to get BETTER!"

He turned bright red and repeated my words to the doctor. The doctor immediately ordered them to hold the discharge and give me pulmonary function testing tomorrow (or as soon as a lung specialist is available.)

Why should I have to fight so hard for that? This is a hospital.

Oh, did I mention I was woken up this morning to be handed a bill for $3,000.00? That's with insurance.

I'm trying so hard to keep my head up.

And we're told we don't need health care reform.

Rant over. sigh
