Jers, last summer I went in the hospital with chest tightness, feeling like I was having a heart attack...it ended up being stress.....when you have other illnesses/conditions, those can exacerbate new symptoms .I am not a doc, but I know that stress can do wicked stuff to one's system, and all of this is not to be discounted even if it is "stress".

Many hugs to you and the family--take care of yourself, too, so you can be strong for her..

We hope they figure out what is going on and make her feel better real soon.
I went through the same thing several years ago. Went through every test imaginable.
In the end, my Aunt took me to her Neuromuscular Therapist in St Pete. It turned out to be the muscles in my chest tightened up so much that they were effecting my lungs. She went up under my rib cage with her hand in a way that I never thought possible. It hurt like hell but when she was done my chest pains started to get better and I was able to breathe again.
They did find a few things that were going on with my heart when I had all of the tests. So it was a good thing to get a full check up.
I hope it is something that they can resolve quickly.

I'm still in the hopsital, but feeling better. When I got here, it felt like I was sucking air in through a tiny hole - I could even hear a whistling sound when I tried to breathe in. It was terrifying. It seems like something is causing inflammation and constriction in my airways. Injected steroids have me breathing much better and relieved the feeling of pressure in my chest.

We still haven't found the source of the problem, but it may well be my workplace. I work in a very old little building that used to be a chicken coop. confused It's falling apart from the ceiling to the floors, with who knows what crumbling off and floating into the air.

And thank you for all your support offered to Chris. Dealing with my ongoing health issues has been very hard on him. I know that on this board we make fun of each other and tease instead of being all lovey dovey, but that's because our favorite thing is making each other laugh. smile In reality he is the most loving, supportive, protective and caring partner I could have ever dreamed up. He really is something else. mushy

I ask our friends here to please continue to offer him your support with this. I'm in here, but he's at home and work, taking care of everything and everyone by himself. sigh

It is. Anytime there is something (even if not illness) that I can't make better, it's a terrible feeling. sad
He's ok now. We don't really know (definitively) what caused it...other than possibly exhaustion (he's been working super hard and not taking best care and smokes a pack a day). Dr said one thing for sure, the smoking has to stop. He has to follow up with his own Dr.

How has her stress level been? I'm sure she's constantly on the go with little tending to herself. Tell her I will come down and kick her ass.
[Edited 2/25/10 18:19pm]

We do both have a lot going on, but trust - the Mistress does not neglect her bubble baths, stretching, naps, yummy treats and other little stress-relieving rewards. We frequently spend way more money than we should on bath products from LUSH, and unwind in our big garden tub. cloud9

I believe strongly in setting the right example for our kids - not one of martyrdom, but of healthy, balanced living - including taking good care of one's self.
It's what you make it.
