Okay, I'm sure Cathy Hughes has been around for a long time. It seems like folks know her. But she asks the dumbest questions. She just annoys me.

Example: She was interviewing Babyface the other day. She brought up old stars like Ella, Nat, etc, and said, "Do you wish you had written those songs they did?" WELL DUH! I'm a songwriter and wish I had come up with "Erotic City" or "Kiss" or "Strange Relationship". Every song writer probably sits and says, "Man, that's a great song, I wish I had thought of that." But you know what? We didn't. Someone else did.

Today, she's interviewing Chaka Khan. They talked briefly about her time w/ Prince, and that the album was really recorded in about a two-week time period. Prince would tell her to go home and write a poem or two about her life. She'd bring it in and the next night, Prince would have the music laid out. At one point, Cathy asked, "Some are calling it a come back, but you never left." Chaka agreed, saying "I never left". Then Cathy says, "Do you see it as a comeback, or just taking it to a new level?" Gee, talk about a leading question. OF COURSE she's going to say it's a new level.

She just seems simplistic in her questioning. She sits up in her chair, and attempt to be the next Barbara Walters, asking "deep" questions, or probing questions, but in reality, she's very green in a lot of ways.

Surely her researchers are also doing a bad job and her back up crew must be absolute crap - what a waste of what could be a good programme. But there again if she had some intelligence surely she could be writing the questions herself? If she was interested in the subject she would, herself, bring some depth into the topic of discussion!

I find that some presenters are an embarrassment to watch! They ask stupid, and sometimes very intrusive unwarranted questions and when they don't get the answer that THEY are after they turn it around so the interviewee looks stupid like "hey I'll tell you again cos may be you are a dumb schmuck and I'll lay it out piecemeal" They don't realise that its the interviewer is looking stupid and crass but also that the public cotton on and that they are a stupid ass!

There's nowt as stupid as folk" as they say up North here in England!

You just noticed how much of a DRAG this witch is? She's thee WORST and most annoying interviewer ever, EVER!

She doesn't believe in pauses, notice that? Everytime there's a pause, she fills it with "ooooh okay", UGH! And don't even get me started on her "I'm too bored to look intrested/concerned but I'll fake it anyway" facial expression. Bitch, we see through your crusty ass wig

Her "oooh okay" is so phony, as if she didn't know it, or just learned something. She loves the sound of her own voice. She tries too hard to be everyone's best friend and buddy on these interviews, thereby losing her edge as an alleged journalist or reporter.

I've just noticed because I've never really paid attention to her before. I knew OF her, but nothing about her.

Just an update: I noticed that at 1 p.m. EST today (Feb 24), she is going to be interviewing Dick Gregory. THAT should be ...um..... interesting, to say the least.

He said that Bill Clinton never even met Monica Lewinsky, but rather the photo of them hugging (which is actually video, he forgets to mention) was photoshopped, because everyone was wearing summer t-shirts and not even looking at the President, and Monica was wearing a winter pea coat and scarf. Well the people in white t-shirts, two of them, had them on OVER their other long sleeve shirts. He also said no President is allowed to put his arms up over his head or something crazy like that, yet Clinton was doing that in this photo.

Interesting story about the policeman that shot Dr. King, and Jack Ruby was framed for it. And the guy that followed the shooter to his police car was dead 4 hours later after he told police "I saw who did it". I've not heard that story...I don't think.

I was just waiting for the chemical trails to come up. I had the feeling it was an older interview because they were still talking about Bush in the present tense, as if he was President at the time.

Cathy Hughes still annoys me. She's so damn phony and an ass kisser.
