It's pretty easy, in some ways, to stand in front of a bunch of nameless faces, like the press, and say "Forgive me, for I have sinned". Sure the world sees it, but the world already knows what he did, so him facing the masses like this is just another day in the life for him. He has no reservations about being in front of millions of people. It's part of his celebrity.

If he was really a man about it, and wanted to recover from this problem he has with lying and cheating and embarrassing people, he'd do it one on one. He'd meet with the heads of Gillette, or whatever company dropped him, and apologize. He'd meet with his family, his friends, his sponsors....ANYONE, personally and talk it out and apologize for, and acknowledge, what he did. But to humble yourself and talk one on one is where a real man steps up.
