I have a mix of what I like and what I can afford. shrug

I wear Neutrogena foundation, Benefit dandelion blush (LOVE that stuff), Maybelline liquid eyeliner, Bare Minerals and Body Shop eyeshadow, and either Neutrogena Weightless Volume (not super-huge lashes, but no clumping ever) or Cover Girl waterproof something-or-other mascara. Lately I'm addicted to Korres pomegranate lip butter, and the only lipstick I wear anymore is MAC.

I love me some benefit make-up!

I haven't used any besides the dandelion powder stuff. What are their other stand-outs?

I used to be a makeup artist for runway shows. I really should get back into it.

Anyway, I like a mix of expensive and drugstore brands. I really like and use NARS and Dior, but I also like drugstore brand - especially mascara. I do a coat of this:

and then a coat of this over it:

And my lashes look better than the lash extensions I got a couple of months ago.

I've read great reviews on Diorshow mascara, I may try this biggrin

Their fragrances are also really fantastic. "Grace" is my all-time favorite.

I don't really have a favorite - I like different lines for different things.

Laura Geller - love her foundation. I never wore a primer until I tried Spackle from her line. Use that and her Phenomenal Foundation and your base is set for the whole day. It won't rub off or sweat off. I've even used it as theatrical make-up. And it gives you a wonderful, smooth (not cakey or flat) finish.

Stila - makes the best eyeliner. Smudgepots are a gel liner that really stays put. I've cried in that stuff onstage - and not had to re-apply.

Christian Dior - makes the only lipsticks that don't totally dry out my lips. They also have the prettiest eye shadow colors.

You should try the eye pallettes from Yves St. Laurent, also quite gorgeous nod

I've been pretty loyal to Bobbie Brown for the last 12 years. I like to accentuate my collection lips from MAC and Stila, and pencils from Christian Dior, though. Bobbie used to make a killer jumbo lip pencil in the 90's though, the best I've ever seen in years of working with some of the world#s top make-up artists from Italian Elle, Marie Claire, Cosmo, Glamour...it was matte, and the red colors were INSANE and lasted forever...then the bitch stopped making them smile . I've been in mourning over that jumbo pencil for at least 8 years now, nothing will ever come close bawl bawl bawl

hug Me too!!! That pencil was the bomb beauty accessory!!! bawl I still love bobby brown though but you can't beat a Stila eye shadow...you just can't! I love Dior mascaras even though they don't last long.

Girl, YOU REMEMBER THAT PENCIL
??!!!! omfg

What the hell was she thinking discontinuing that whofarted

I still bitch and moan about that pencil today, every time I go to pick up other stuff from Bobbie Brown. Those poor sales artists are probably so happy to see the back of my head once my purchase is done, I almost feel sorry for them with all the whining I put them through lol

Yep. She fucked up on that one.

Another line was rocking the jumbo lip liner pencil around that time and now no one seems to make it. All we get are these skinny pencils that look like eye liners and you have to keep sharpening them. UGH!!! Thank god for matte lipstick - I never wear a liner with it.

Did you see the sparkle liners? love

It's a good thing I'm not in the drag business anymore. I'd be going broke.

What are you trying to cover? (Serious question.)

If you're just pale and trying to give yourself a little color (as opposed to needing to cover scars or blemishes), the best thing might be to start with a tinted moisturizer and then use a touch of bronzer. Because it's lighter in consistency, a tinted moisturizer will be easier to blend - which is always the hardest part of using foundation.

For my money, the best tinted moisturizer is Laura Mercier. It gives decent coverage (especially for something that isn't a true foundation) and goes on evenly (which is another hugely tricky thing with foundation).

The other thing to try is, if you already have a facial moisturizer you like, find a foundation in a color that works for you and just blend a few drops with your own moisturizer. The reason I suggest this is that most foundations are formulated to work on women's skin. Men's skin is thicker and tends to be oilier. So getting the right foundation may be more difficult.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I just bought this concealer for Erin. It's the make-up line that she uses.

I've also bought these (under her direction of course):

She loves them, that's about as much as I know. shrug

Iman. Her stuff is all earth based in the coloring. Her pinks even have a little brownish earth colors in the base I LOVE it. Her foundation is the best. It has great coverage. The only drawback is that I cannot find foundation for my color. Because of her name, most retailers assume that it is a "Black" cosmetic line but it is not. So I can never find the foundation anymore. UFF

Otherwise Urban Decay and Mac are great. I used to buy cheap shit and use eyshadow primer to make it stay, but there's nothing like mac eyeshadow. It goes no where.

I use L'Oreal Voluminous. Have been using it since 1994. Sometimes I switch, but I always go back. Even the expensive stuff can't hold a candle to this.

Also, when buying stuff from the drugstore I ALWAYS use a coupon. So I wait till the stuff is on sale like buy one get one free plus the coupon. A sister's gotta budget, honey!
